3 Stylish (and Easy) Third-Day Hairstyles to Try

Klorane Dry Shampoo

Bad hair days, just like bad skin days, instantly chisel away at your confidence and make you wish for Harry Potter’s invisibility cloak. But lank, lacklustre hair and greasy roots should no longer be a reason to hide away…

I’ve joined forces with French Pharmacy brand Klorane, to share the three simple hairstyles I turn to when I want to take an extra day between shampoos. And you only need one haircare product to achieve all three looks: Klorane’s beloved Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk…

Klorane Dry Shampoo

I first discovered Klorane’s Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk a few years ago, after it was featured in US Vogue. And it’s been my favourite dry shampoo ever since!

Unlike other formulas, Klorane’s dry shampoo restores freshness without weighing your scalp down with a powdery residue. Klorane offer a vast selection of gentle and natural hair products, and the oat seeds used in their dry shampoo are harvested from their own fields. Oat milk has softening and protective qualities – which helps give dirty hair a fresh, light feel.

I have fine hair and an oily scalp, which isn’t a particularly desirable combination. But, despite this, I’m able to shampoo and condition every three days. On the second and third day I revive my hair with Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk, and turn to one of these failsafe second and third-day hairstyles…

Easy Hairstyles for Dirty Hair Days

Style #1: Half Up, Half Down

Third Day Hairstyles

This hairstyle is pretty, feminine and so easy to achieve. Spritz Klorane’s Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk through your roots to restore freshness and add a little volume and body. Then take a 2-3 inch section of hair from each side of your face and pin in place at the back of your head. Accessorise with embellished hair clips.

Style #2: Statement Headband

Second and Third Day Hairstyles

This speedy style is perfect for days at the office! Extend the life of your blow dry by working Klorane’s Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk through your hair. Leave the dry shampoo to settle in your hair for two minutes, gently brush through and then finish with a statement headband (Anthropologie have a great selection). You’ll instantly look polished and pull-together.

Style #3: High Ponytail

The high ponytail is the ultimate second or third-day hairstyle. To get extra height and bounce I give my roots a lift with Klorane’s Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk. Then I pull the top section of my hair into a mini, high pony and fasten with a hair tie. Once that ponytail is fixed in place I gather and smooth the rest of my hair and tie it together with the original high ponytail. If I’m feeling extra-fancy I’ll then loop a ribbon around the ponytail, for added pizzazz.

Purchase Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk at Boots, online beauty retailers and independent pharmacies. RRP £8 for 150ML.

  1. I remember getting Klorane’s hair conditioner once, and I ended up using it to wash my make up brushes, as my hair absolutely detests it. But to each their own 🙂
Washing one’s hair every three days sounds like a nightmare to me now! I have successfully taught my hair that the only washing day is on Sunday, and it changed my life, no exaggeration. It still looks so good on Sunday, I could probably start pushing it for even more, but I kind of like having one day a week that feels a bit more ‘pampering’, with hair mask and all.

Oh no, that’s a shame. But I bet your makeup brushes are now VERY soft haha. And you’re so lucky you can get away with washing your hair once a week. I would like to be able to push it up to four days, but it’s hard when it gets oily so quickly.

Always a fan of the high pony! <3

It’s such a great brand, isn’t it? I’ve just started using one of their shampoos for oily hair and really love it!

Hi Sharni. I use Batiste every now and then and think it’s SO effective at refreshing hair but it often makes my scalp quite dry. For me, Klorane definitely feels more gentle.
