I’m not sure if this is an embarrassing confession, but over the last six months I’ve become a hardcore Taylor Swift fan. This is mostly because ‘Red’ is such an awesome album, but I also like the fact Taylor is a self-confessed cat lover. She has an adorable Scottish fold cat named Meredith and was recently papped wearing a ‘Great Catsby’ T-shirt. So I think it’s fair to assume Taylor would love Markus Lupfer’s Spring/Summer 2014 line.
The Markus Lupfer collection was presented at London Fashion Week in a set-up made to look like a teenage girl’s bedroom, and the clothes themselves reflected that sense of girlish nostalgia. Slogan knits were tucked into A-line skirts, denim was printed with lipstick kisses and love hearts, and vivid floral imagery was sliced together, creating a cheerful patchwork effect.
It was one of my favourite presentations at LFW, last September, but the lookbook is even more fun as Rosie Tapner poses alongside a litter of kittens. Cool, wearable clothes + a fluffy kittens = girl heaven!
I particularly like the “lame” knit as I have a habit of saying, “That’s so lame’ when I can’t think of any other insults. And, if I’m really unimpressed by something, it just gets one overly-dramatic “lame….”
This jumpsuit also caught my eye (it would actually look amazing on Taylor, don’t you think). But the fluffy grey kitten definitely steals the spotlight. It’s SOOOOOOOOO cute!
Are you also a fan of the Markus Lupfer SS14 collection? Which pieces are your favourites? As always, leave a comment and let me know…
