My Style | Smiley, Happy Handbags

Khaki Army Shirt Zara

There’s been a lot of buzz around Emma Hill’s return to fashion over the past six months, as the ex-Mulberry designer launched her much-anticipated label, Hill & Friends, last fall. I’ve been carrying the delightful ‘Happy Satchel’ non-stop since London Fashion Week, and it never fails to put a spring in my step. The clasp detail has been fashioned to look like a smiley face (a signature of all Hill & Friends handbags), and acts as an instant mood-lifter.

Somerset House seemed like the perfect place to photograph the ‘Happy Satchel’, because there is currently a smiley face flying above the South Wing. The Utopia Flag was erected in January and will fly above the historic building until the end of March. It’s so lovely to look up at London’s skyline and see a big, happy grin – especially on a gloriously sunny day!

Along with the Hill & Friends handbag, I’ve also welcomed lots of new Zara designs to my wardrobe this season. The khaki army shirt is my favourite purchase, and I’ll no doubt be wearing on repeat all year. Other amazing Zara finds include their Temperley-inspired top, on-trend cropped flares and this short parka which I’m going to buy for my upcoming New York trip

Have you also done a Zara shop in preparation for the new season? What did you buy?
