I’ve practised yoga on-and-off for about five years. But over the past 10 months I’ve got really into vinyasa yoga, and I currently attend 3-4 classes each week. (Many of my goals for 2019 are yoga related).
However, over the coming weeks I won’t be able to spend much time at my yoga studio, because I have travel commitments, followed by two weeks of jury duty. So, instead, I’ll be focusing on at-home practise.
Luckily YouTube makes it super-easy to get the class experience at home. And here are four of my favourite yoga videos on YouTube, right now…
Yoga For A Dull Moment | Yoga With Adriene
If I go a few days without doing a yoga practise I start to feel sluggish. So, if I can’t get to a class, this is the first video I turn to. It’s a 10-minute vinyasa, making it super-easy to fit into your morning or evening routine. And 9 times out of 10, once I’ve completed this video I feel motivated enough to do another practise afterwards.
14 Minute Core Practice | Yoga With Adriene
This is a great video to help improve your core strength. I hate doing abdominal exercises – and it’s the area that I need to focus on most – but this video is the perfect length. It feels challenging, but it isn’t intimidatingly difficult.
45 Minute Everyday Vinyasa Flow Yoga Class with Alex Mazerolle
This 40-minute lululemon class is a great video if you’re looking for something a bit more intense. It’s probably the closest you’ll get to a real-life class experience at home. The flow is listed for beginners/all levels, but I think it’s probably better suited to those who are a bit more confident in their yoga practise.
Head & Heart Reset | Yoga With Adriene
Yoga With Adriene yet again! What can I say, I just love Adriene Mishler’s style of teaching. And this is a lovely, gentle flowing practise that focuses on heart-openers. It’s a nice practise to do if you’ve been feeling a little sensitive, and want to take a moment for self-care.
Do you regularly practise yoga at home? If so please do share your favourite YouTube yoga videos in the comments section below, as I’m always looking for new routines to try at home…
