Weekly Wish List | Workwear Investments and Spring Stationery

Spring 2017 Workwear Edit

Trumpet sleeve top by Topshop | Snake brogues by Somerset by Alice Temperley | Cargo pants by Whistles | Fragrance trio by Helmut Lang | Stripe jacket by L.K. Bennett | Notebook by kikki.K | Stainless steel watch by Larsson & Jennings | Crossbody bag by Topshop | A-line skirt by H&M

Do you ever find yourself getting stuck in a shopping routine and constantly visiting the same retailers? I’m a big ASOS fan, and spend a ridiculous amount of time on their website. However, since the beginning of the year I’ve been trying to cast a wider net when it comes to shopping. And it’s been such an enjoyable experiment.

I never would have spotted Somerset by Alice Temperley’s fabulous snake-effect brogues, had I not challenged myself to step outside my usual rotation of retailers. Nor would I have discovered L.K. Bennet’s super-chic stripe jacket, which is the perfect S/S workwear investment (it gives me major Olivia Palermo vibes). I’d team the jacket with a pair of fitted black trousers and block midi heels, if I had an important meeting in the calendar. But I think it would look just as good dressed down with Whistles’ cargo pants.

However, whilst it’s great to expand your style horizons, it’s hard to resist old favourites. And this week I’ve found myself coveting everything in kikki.K’s spring collection. The colour palette is so inviting, and I’m particularly taken by the notepads and gratitude journal. Sadly I’m overrun with stationery as it is, so I’ll have to splurge on birthday gifts for friends instead.

Have any of the items in this week’s wish list caught your eye? Leave a comment below to let me know…

  • I love this notebook! Although I got my journal from kikki this year and I am quite disappointed with it, really, so may be able to resist the pretty cover 🙂

    • cocos_tea_party

Oh no! How so? That’s such a shame. I’ve always had such great experiences with their product 🙁

      • It is just really… feeble? The cover bent in half within first day of being in my purse and in general it just doesn’t feel like it will survive a whole year, the pages are super thin so that ink leaks between them and the overall inside design is not that functional either. Eh. Great lesson in not buying stationery online, one needs to get a good feel of it, especially if it is to last long time 🙂
