The Weekend Reading List

What can be said this week? It’s shocking and saddening that at a time when we hoped we would be celebrating the first female president, women in the US are taking to social media to question whether they should get an IUD, because they’re so frightened about what will happen to their reproductive rights over the next four years. It feels like we’ve stepped back in time.

There is clearly so much work left to do in the fight for women’s rights. And, as Hillary Clinton so gracefully put it in her concession speach, now is not the time to give up. “I have spent my entire adult life fighting for what I believe in. I’ve had successes and I’ve had setbacks — sometimes really painful ones,” she said. “You will have successes and setbacks, too. This loss hurts. But please, never stop believing that fighting for what’s right is worth it.”
