Silk dress by RIXO | Military coat by Topshop | Leather bag by Mansur Gavriel | The Happy Kitchen cookbook | Stripe knit by Next | Earrings by Rebecca Minkoff | Embroidered skirt by River Island | Ankle boots by KG Kurt Geiger | Trumpet sleeve top by River Island
Are you obsessed with trumpet sleeves this season? The M&S fluted knit, which I featured two weeks ago, has been so popular I currently see it on Instagram at least five times a day. But if you don’t enjoy wearing such instantly-recognisable pieces I have a similar high street suggestion up my sleeve (excuse the pun)… River Island’s trumpet sleeve top is even more dramatic than Marks and Spencer’s offering. Plus, the cream and black colour-combo gives it a whiff of Chanel.
I’d style the on-trend tee with tailored black trousers, elegant ankle boots (I love Kurt Geiger’s current offering) and a structured leather handbag. It’s a look that feels”workwear chic” in my mind, but I worry those sleeves would cause all kinds of problems in reality. For starters, I guarantee I would accidentally dip them in my lunch!
And, trumpet sleeves aside, this week I’m also coveting RIXO’s printed silk dresses. The ’70s-inspired label is right up my street, and their star and moon midi is the perfect party dress. I can just imagine Sienna Miller wearing it with platform heels, a messy bun and minimal makeup. Fingers crossed my vision becomes a reality.
Is your winter wardrobe already stocked with trumpet sleeves? And which style buys are catching your eye this week?
