The Weekend Reading List

Weekend Reading List 228

How has your week been? I’ve been laying low, for the most part, after I got hit by the nasty cold that’s been doing the rounds. It’s taken so long for my energy levels to return to normal. And unfortunately it meant that I had to miss the Christian Dior exhibition opening at the V&A, on Wednesday.

However, the week wasn’t all bad. Because the extra time I home meant I was able to finish Madeline Miller’s epic novel Circe, which I really enjoyed! I now want to learn more about greek mythology – and Googling the different Gods has become my latest method of procrastination…

The Dior exhibition looks amazing, I got my tickets already even if I’m only going in May! In the past, I’ve loved fashion exhibitions, mostly the MET costume institute ones, but I’m excited to see this one because it focuses on only one designer and there is a Princess Margaret dress in the expo.

Hope you’re feeling better! The colds going around are vicious, I’ve been hit too- it’s the worst! Thank you for the book recommendations, we’re expecting more snow over here, so I’m building my reading list! I’m in the middle of a new title right now, Defining You by Fiona Murden. I feel like she’s speaking directly to me from my living room. So insightful and enlightening. I wasn’t really looking for a “self-help book” per se, but a friend recommended this one and ANYONE could benefit from her words. I read up on her before I bought the book, just because I’m a bit of a skeptic….. she’s pretty legit! This is her website, http://www.fionamurden.com

  4. So glad to find out about more interesting things to read – need some inspiration
