The Weekend Reading List

The Weekend Reading List 221

Sex and the City has been making headlines again this week, as it was revealed in James Andrew Miller’s Origins podcast that Mr Big would have died in the third movie. But, in my opinion, that’s one of the least interesting revelations to come from the three-part podcast series. Most interesting to me was hearing Chris Noth (Mr Big himself) speak out against the “corny” movies. He said:

“I really didn’t enjoy any of the movies. I really hate corny stuff. It could be because I’m a little bit of a cynic… I’m a team player, but I never really enjoyed the movies. I thought they were sentimental as hell. Even the humour didn’t match the series.”

And as one of the writers at Lainey Gossip points out, “He’s not wrong. He’s very right. But can you imagine if one of the female cast members had articulated it this way?” I’m forever grateful to Kim Cattrall for saving us from another awful movie!
