The Weekend Reading List

Weekend Reading List 187

Do you worry about the effects pollution has on your skin? It’s something that’s been at the forefront of my mind for just over a year, after a skin specialist informed me a dark spot I’ve developed is more likely to have been caused by London’s polluted air than sun damage.

This week Refinery29 explored the subject of anti-pollution skincare, and I was shocked to discover this fact from OSKIA founder, Georgie Cleeve: “Currently 92% of the world’s population live in places where air pollution levels exceed the limits set by the World Health Organization. In fact, London has already reached its yearly quota.”

  • It’s going to sound mad, but you should be glad you live in London and not in, for instance, Southern Poland. In the summer on a windless day smog is so dense there you can literally see it o.o And that is why I am never ever ever moving away from the sea 🙂

Oh gosh, that is terrible. I wish governments around the world would do more to protect the planet and speed up the development of eco-friendly solutions!

  • We all should be so concerned about the effects of pollution on our bodies inside and out . Please connect with your governments and let them know your concerns. It works !

I think this is a really significant and often forgotten aspect of skincare & holistic healthcare. Thanks for a skincare feature with a slightly different focus from the norm!
