A Summer Break & the Future of Coco’s Tea Party

Hello, hello. I hope you’re having an amazing summer, so far. I have a little update to share with you today, about my posting schedule for July, and my plans for the blog, going forwards…

The Plan for July

As July and August are always super-quiet months for the blog, I’ve decided to take the next three weeks off to recharge and tinker with my content strategy. I’ll continue to create new content for Instagram, but the blog will be taking a backseat for a short while.

I know that you all love The Weekend Reading List. So I’m planning to take this feature over to Instagram Stories for the next few weeks, instead. I’ll share about 5 links every Friday, and save The Weekend Reading List Story as a Highlight, in case you miss the weekend posting in the first 24 hours or want to revisit an article.

The August Coco’s Tea Party Book Club newsletter will go out as usual, on the first Thursday of the month (August 1st). The August edition is set to be a Summer Romance Special, and if you’re not already subscribed you can do so here.

The Plan for August onwards

Now, obviously this plan might change once I have some proper time off to think and reset. But, at the moment, I see myself returning in August with fewer blog posts per week, but more personal/essay-based content.

I want to differentiate cocosteaparty.com from the @cocosteaparty Instagram account, by providing depth and long-form written content that simply wouldn’t translate to IG.

This plan may indeed change. But without taking some time to step back and take stock of things, it’s impossible for me to get the perspective I need.

Thank you, once again, for being the loveliest bunch of internet friends, and for continuing to support Coco’s Tea Party.

A change in creative direction feels well overdue, and I’m beyond excited to take a little break and give myself an opportunity to reset. I hope I’ll see you all back here when I return in August.

Ella xoxo

I think you had a great idea. I’d like to do something like that, too. Summer is such an uninspiring season, for me!
And as a reader, I prefer quality content over many posts that I don’t even finish to read. Sometimes I look at my Bloglovin’ account and I see blog with dozens of posts and they are often so repetitive. Less is more!

  2. Michelle says:

Ah I’m going to miss reading your posts during these three weeks! Nevertheless, you make a great point that in order to move forwards you have to gain some perspective. I definitely don’t consume as much online content during the summer… When I’m home, I like to be in the garden, and when I’m outdoors, the light glare is just too much 😉

Can’t wait to see more of your personal essays when you’re back. x

As a regular reader for at least the last 10 years, I’ve really enjoyed the direction in which you have decided to take the blog. I very much look forward to the new direction, I think more thoughtful, long-form content is what the internet needs right now.

I hope you have a lovely break and return to the site with your batteries fully recharged! In the meantime, I really need to consider getting an account on Instagram not to miss any of the other content…

Thank you so much for your lovely comment Estranged. I’m so flattered that you’ve been reading Coco’s Tea Party for so long. Fingers crossed the break will be very productive for me! xx

  4. Nicole says:

Its nice to take a break to refuel and relax. All the best in the three weeks you will ba away

  5. Azura says:

I am going to miss your posts Ella, but totally understand the need to reflect and reset. I myself have been going through the same thought process. I am sure the break will do you, nothing but good. See you on the other side! x
