Say No to Summer Sandal Misery and Step Back Into Sneakers

Sneaker Style 2

Are you suffering from summer sandal misery yet? You know the drill: you spend weeks pounding the streets in covetable yet deadly sandals, then August rolls around and your feet suddenly give up and start to resemble one giant blister (apologies for the gross visual).

I nipped into Boots drugstore this week and it honestly felt like half of London’s female population was hovering limping around in the footcare aisle, looking for some form of pain relief. We’ve made it this far, but I suggest we all club together and declare August the month of stylish sneakers. Are you on board?

I wear my grey Nike Flyknits and a pair of electric blue Puma sneakers all the time, but lately I’ve been itching to buy a new pair of kicks. New Balance’s mint green trainers would look great with tanned legs, so they’re heading to the top of my wish list, along with Kurt Geiger’s sparkly plimsolls. Both are easy to style for the summer – just add luxe jersey dresses, mini cross-body bags and statement sunglasses!

Are you ready to step back into sneakers to the remainder of the summer? What’s your go-to style? As always, leave a comment or tweet me at @cocosteaparty.

Thank YOU for being such an inspiring sneaker-wearer 😉 x

  • I don’t know how to wear sneakers with bare legs. I don’t want my socks to show and secret socks just slide down my feet after a while. I think I’ll just look for comfortable sandals instead. My feet need air in summer 🙂

I don’t mind a flash of ankle sock, depending on the trainers. But H&M’s secret socks aren’t too slippy (I know what you mean about them generally being annoying though).

      • I have big calves so that’s why I don’t any extra lines around my ankles 🙂 We don’t have H&M here, but I’ve heard rumours that we might get a few stores next year. I guess I just have to try some different brands.
