This post has been a long time coming, but I’ve finally shot my first apartment home tour. And I’m kicking the two-part series off with a look at my bedroom. This room is rather petite, but thankfully the high ceilings and generous natural light make it appear more spacious, so it’s never felt cramped.
Here’s a detailed look at the small bedroom design ideas I’ve put into practise, and the furniture and accessories I’ve invested in so far…

I’m sure most of you will agree that the best thing about staying in a beautiful hotel is the luxurious bedding, and I was keen to replicate that feeling at home. So I was absolutely delighted when the team at Tielle Love Luxury reached out to see whether I would like to put their beloved bedding to the test. (Tielle Love Luxury’s parent company is Tradelinens, who supply to the world’s leading 5* hotels). I’ve been sleeping like a baby every night, in their Classic Hotel bed linen set, so can happily say I’m now a fan for life!
And whilst I do favour plain, white bedding, I’ve tried to add some personality to my set-up with H&M Home’s leaf-motif cushions and a woven blanket from The White Company.

Before moving into this flat I was slightly concerned about the lack of space in the bedroom. I was lucky to inherit built-in wardrobes, but I have a vast collection of clothing and accessories (as I’m sure you can imagine). And half of my wardrobe is still living at my parents house…
So far I’ve been navigating the storage issue in a number of different ways. I deliberately ordered a bed that was tall enough to place storage boxes underneath, and that hides a lot of clutter. Summer basket bags have been repurposed to house beauty products and towels. I purchased a Kartell storage unit, which can double as a bedside table. And I created a miniature vanity area in the corner of my bedroom, using a minimalist IKEA shelf.
Eventually I will probably need to source stylish storage boxes that can sit above my wardrobe. But for now I’m managing quite well.

I’m already really happy with the way my bedroom looks, but there are a few tweaks I’m keen to make in the coming months. I’m still searching for artwork to hang above my bed, and I’d like to upgrade the full-length mirror too, because I’m not a big fan of the silver frame. I also currently use the H&M leaf motif cushions in both my living room and bedroom room, and would like to find something in a softer colour palette for this space. Any suggestions?
