The Devil Wears Prada Sequel, “Revenge Wears Prada”, is Coming…

It’s been 10 years since Lauren Weisberger’s novel The Devil Wears Prada was released, and almost seven years since the movie adaptation hit cinemas. I’m sure you’ll all agree when I say The Devil Wears Prada is the greatest fashion story ever written/filmed, and now we’re about to get part two, with the upcoming sequel, Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns. The follow-up novel is released in June, and revisits main characters Miranda Priestly and Andrea Sachs.

Revenge Wears Prada

According to Entertainment Weekly, Andy and former-frenemy, Emily, have launched their own bridal magazine (oddly named The Plunge). Andy is “planning her own wedding to Max, a handsome media scion” but “remains haunted by her impeccably heeled former boss — and the magazine world being as small as it is, it’s only a matter of time before she runs into the legendary editrix once again.”

Revenge Wears Prada The Devil Returns

It’s definitely going to be the hot summer read, and I’m crossing my fingers a big-screen sequel will also follow. Wouldn’t it be amazing to see Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci return to their fashion alter-egos?

And with that in mind I’ve picked out five of my favourite quotes from the movie. They never fail to make me laugh…

Miranda: “Tell Simone I’m not going to approve that girl that she sent me for the Brazilian layout. I asked for clean, athletic, smiling. She sent me dirty, tired and paunchy.”

Emily: “I’m on this new diet. Well, I don’t eat anything and when I feel like I’m about to faint I eat a cube of cheese. I’m just one stomach flu away from my goal weight.”

Miranda: “This layout for the Winter Wonderland spread… Not wonderful yet.”

Nigel: “Corn chowder. That’s an interesting choice. You do know that cellulite is one of the main ingredients in corn chowder.”

Miranda: “I said to myself, go ahead. Take a chance. Hire the smart, fat girl.”

Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns is released on June 4th in the US and June 20th in the UK. You can pre-order a copy at Amazon right now for £5.99. And keep an eye on the blog for more details coming soon…

  • “Flowers for spring? Groundbreaking.”

I can’t wait for the sequel!

  • I’m looking forward to this. I hope it breaks the sequel curse and is every bit as good as the original.

  • Is it bad that this has completely made my day?
