Tell me, are you looking forward to the Royal Wedding? In the past I’ve never been particularly enthusiastic about the Royal Family, but I’m already feeling excited about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s May nuptials. There are a few reasons for this:
1. Harry is my favourite Royal, and I’ve been a fan of Meghan since the early days of Suits. I avidly followed her on Instagram for years (more on that later).
2. I was in New York when William and Kate got married, so I missed out on all of the celebrations. (Although, for the duration of that week, every New York taxi driver asked me, “So, how about Pippa and that arse, huh?!”)
3. My overall admiration for the Queen has increased tenfold since watching The Crown. As a result, I now have a greater interest in everything relating to the British monarchy.
And it turns out I’m not the only one getting swept up in the excitement… Ever since the engagement was announced Megahn Markle’s outfits have been selling-out at the speed of lightning. Even her nose is currently the most popular plastic surgery request. It’s crazy!
This trendsetting ability has also filtered down into the home, with fans rushing to replicate the modern, feminine decor Meghan favoured in her Toronto abode. The actress regularly posted snaps of her home on Instagram (before closing her social media accounts in January), and it was beautifully designed, with neutral tones, marble table-tops, white contemporary furniture and lots of pink peonies.
It’s exactly how I intend to style my new apartment! And, as luck would have it, the latest Sainsbury’s Home collection references that coveted Meghan Markle home interior style.
The Sainsbury’s Home team have seen sales of their faux pink peonies increase since Meghan and Harry’s engagement was announced. And their stunning pre-spring 2018 collections feature many more products that will help you get the Meghan Markle home look.
I’ve been having so much fun styling these pieces up in my own apartment…
Sainsbury’s Home has quickly become one of my favourite places to shop for decor. Their in-house design team is so talented, the prices are affordable and the quality is absolutely fantastic!
This season I’m loving all of the feminine details and luxe finishing touches. The mirrored, marble photo frame with a copper trim adds a bit of glamour to my sideboards. But, the highlight has to be the marble side table. It looks sooo expensive, but is an absolute bargain at £45!
I borrowed a sample for this shoot, as the table hasn’t reached stores yet. But, trust me, come March 11th I will be lining up outside my nearest Sainsbury’s Home to purchase one of these babies. And who knows, maybe Meghan Markle herself will also be rushing to snap one up for her and Harry’s new home at Nottingham Cottage…
“We have seen an increase in customers buying our faux pink peonies, stone-wear jugs and our rose-gold planters, perfect for adding tone and colour to any space,” says Anna Cross, home accessories buyer at Sainsbury’s Home. “Maintaining a neutral palette but playing with contrasting shapes and materials, adding hints of colour with copper and marble accessories is one way to create this clean but lived-in look.”
