The 5 Makeup Products I Always Repurchase

The Best Makeup to Repurchase

The beauty industry churns at new launches at the speed of lightning, and there’s always a fresh, innovative and exciting product to grab your attention. So it would be very easy to completely refresh your makeup bag every three months, if you desired. I’m quite traditional, however. And when I find something that works I stick to it like glue!

There are a number of makeup products I always repurchase – whatever the season. And I’m sharing 5 of my all-time favourites below. You’ll notice that the bulk of these items focus on a glowing complexion, and that’s because I think it’s so important to invest in a good base for your makeup.

I’d love to know which products you repeat purchase. So feel free to share your favourites in the comments section below…

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in “Dim Light”
This powder truly is one of my desert island items. I cannot live without it! Hailed as a “lighting technician in your pocket”, the finishing powder diffuses and filters harsh light, helping to create the appearance of flawless, luminous skin. There are six shades in the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder collection, and all create different effects. But “Dim Light” is my favourite. I wear it day and night, throughout the year. It’s my secret weapon, and the reason my “flawless” complexion receives so many compliments. Without this magic powder, I’d lose my glow overnight! {Shop at John Lewis and Sephora}

Charlotte Tilbury Retoucher Concealer
As you know, I’m a huge fan of Charlotte Tilbury’s makeup. And I wholeheartedly believe every product she creates is absolutely amazing. But if I had to pick just one hero item from the lineup it would be the Retoucher Concealer (I wear shade 2 fair). The formula is highly pigmented, yet the texture remains light and blendable. It creates a seamless finish, and is perfect for dark under-eye circles. I panic the moment my Retoucher pen runs out, and immediately run to purchase a replacement. {Shop at Selfridges and Nordstrom}

The Makeup I Repurchase

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara
To be honest, I’m not overly fussy when it comes to mascara. I’m always happy to put new formulas to the test, and nine times out of ten they’re perfectly fine. But Benefit Roller Lash holds a special place in my hard. It gives my lashes a beautiful, defined curl and lengthens without adding clumps. I know many people prefer Benefit’s They’re Real mascara. But, for me, Roller Lash is the winning formula! {Shop at House of Fraser and Sephora}

Chanel Vitalumière Aqua Foundation
There are about four or five different foundations that I love and rotate regularly. But Chanel Vitalumière Aqua is my longterm love. If Chanel ever dare to discontinue this formula I will honestly camp outside their beauty headquarters until they change their minds. It’s lightweight, low maintenance (I apply it with my fingertips) and gives a fresh, healthy glow. Try it and you’ll no doubt become addicted too… {Shop at John Lewis and Nordstrom}

Lancôme Shine Lover Lipstick in ‘Twisted Beige’
I’m pretty boring when it comes to lip colour, as you have probably noticed. I rarely stray from nudes or rosey pinks, and my all-time favourite lipstick falls directly into that category. The Lancôme Shine Lover Lipstick in “212 Twisted Beige” is a pretty, soft pink. It catches the light beautifully and gives a natural, bare-lipped look. The texture is incredibly hydrating, so I regularly wear this in place of a lip balm, too. Word is “Twisted Beige” is also Lisa Eldridge’s favourite shade, so clearly I’m in good company… {Shop at Boots and Nordstrom}

P.S. I had an absolute nightmare editing these photos. Sorry that they’re a bit heavy on the Lightroom filters. Eventually I had to just give in and run with what I had…
