Spring isn’t my favourite season for fashion, as the unpredictable weather always makes it difficult to get dressed (I either over or underestimate how cold/sunny it’s going to be). However, when it comes to beauty it’s probably my favourite time of the year, as the product releases are always so pretty and feminine.
British textile designer Michael Angove has created a limited edition home collection for Jo Malone, which will be released on April 1st. The beautiful printed packaging is just as delicious as the fresh scents inside, so this collaboration will probably sell out at the speed of lightning. I was lucky enough to receive a box of the Blackberry & Bay scented sachets and my wardrobe has never smelt better! At £20 for a pack of three they’re definitely a luxurious treat, but if you’re a big fan of Jo Malone fragrances it’s worth splashing on a box.
And, whilst we’re on the subject of scents, I’ve recently developed an obsession with This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray, which is a relaxing mix of Lavender, Vetivert and Wild Camomile. Studies have shown a few spritzes on the pillow can help you enjoy a deeper sleep. I don’t use it every night, but if I’ve had a particularly long or stressful day it’s a really lovely indulgence. The new supersize-bottle features an illustration by Alexandra Palmowski, winner of a student project at the Royal College of Art.
There are also plenty of new makeup releases for spring 2014. At the moment I’m completely obsessed with pale pink lipsticks, and my two favourites are Tom Ford’s sheer ‘Summer Fling‘ – which is part of the SS14 collection – and Burberry’s elegant ‘Tea Rose‘. Both lipsticks complement the Laura Mercier Enlightenment Eye & Cheek Palette perfectly, and worn with a light base (like Chantecaille Just Skin Tinted Moisturiser SPF15) you get a gorgeous English Rose look.
Later in the week I’ll also be sharing a selection of my latest drugstore discoveries, so check back for some affordable, guilt-free buys. And, of course, let me know your thoughts on this luxury edit. Are you a fan of any of these products?
