Copying Kate Moss’ Style (Yet Again…)

It’s been a while since I’ve copied one of Kate Moss’ outfits from head-to-toe. In my early teens I used to stick photos of Kate into a giant inspiration scrapbook (these were the days before blogs and Pinterest) and then try to recreate her most iconic looks with a pocket money budget. I’ve since become less obsessed with Kate’s style, but last week she was out and about promoting Rimmel’s 180th anniversary, and one particular outfit instantly caught my attention.

For a photocall at the Savoy hotel, Kate rocked up in a fringed kimono jacket, black skinny jeans, suede ankle boots and a khaki T-shirt. As always, it’s the way she puts things together that makes her style so special – those extra details, like the mixed-metal coin necklace, take her outfits to a whole new level of fabulousness…

Kate Moss Style Kimono

I immediately started searching for lookalike designs – forgetting how difficult it is to replicate Kate’s style, as she usually wears vintage and pieces from her extensive designer archive. Topshop always come up trumps though, and they have an impressive selection of kimonos on offer right now (as do ASOS). Wear the boho classic as Kate does, with skinny jeans, ankle boots and a slouchy khaki tee.
