As I’ve mentioned previously, I have very fine hair. And over the years I’ve tried lots of tricks to make it appear thicker. Some methods have been quite successful, others less so. But the one thing that’s almost impossible to do is get a noticeable lift at the roots. And, let’s be honest, that’s what all fine-haired girls desire.
Beyond bonded extensions and excessive backcombing, one of the only other ways to get a real boost at the roots is with hair mousse. But after a number of horrific experiences with mousse during my teenage years I swore off it for good! However, a few weeks ago I was at a breakfast with the lovely ladies from John Frieda, and they suggested I try the new Luxurious Volume Perfectly Full Mousse.
I was reluctant at first, because I still remember what it was like to head off to school with crispy hair. But I was assured their latest formula was different and wouldn’t create a crunchy texture.
And do you know what? They were telling the truth! It’s rare that I post about a single product, but the Perfectly Full mousse has really impressed me. You apply it to the roots of wet hair, and activate the volumising ingredients by blow drying (I like to turn my head upside down and use a difuser for maximum impact). The results are immediate, and limp hair is given a noticeable lift that lasts all day.
Obviously it won’t completely transform the natural texture of your hair. So don’t expect to look like Connie Britton all of a sudden (#hairgoals). But if you’re another fine haired lady I think you’ll be rather impressed by what this £5.99 mousse can do. Give it a go, and report back…
Are you tempted to give the John Frieda Luxurious Volume Mousse a try? And if you’re already a big fan of volumising mousses, are there any others that you would recommend?
