Trans-seasonal dressing can be a challenge. But, this year, the fash pack are making the switch over to autumn much easier with the addition of one wardrobe staple: the classic A-line skirt. It’s a timeless silhouette that flatters every shape, and was all over the AW16 runways. Here’s a look at how five of my favourite Brit bloggers are styling their A-line skirts this fall…

CHANNEL THE ’70S WITH SUEDE AND TURTLENECKS
Follow Alex Stedman from The Frugality‘s lead and pair a ’70s-inspired suede skirt with a turtleneck. Alex’s skirt and stripe top are both from Boden, but you can also find a similar skirt at River Island. {Photo by Eva K Salvi}

Leopard Print Skirt The Elgin Avenue Style

EXPERIMENT WITH COLOUR
Monica Welburn from The Elgin Avenue makes a statement in her A-line skirt by mixing on-trend leopard print with a pop of neon. Recreate her look with Topshop’s animal print mini and J.Crew’s “Tippi” sweater, which comes in an assortment of bright hues.

A Line Skirt Girl in the Lens

TEAM WITH OTK BOOTS
Girl in the Lens blogger, Natasha Ngan, wears her A-line mini with over-the-knee boots and a lace blouse. It’s the perfect trans-seasonal look, and come winter just add opaque tights. Head to ASOS and Kurt Geiger for similar OTK boots.

Kristabel Plummer A-Line Skirt

IF IN DOUBT, ADD BRETON STRIPES
Kristabel Plummer from I Want You to Know makes a statement in her embroidered A-line skirt, a tones the look down with a classic Breton tee. Update the combo for A/W with an embroidered leather skirt – Topshop and River Island both have great styles in store right now.

Skirt Over Pants Fall 2016

LAYER OVER FLARED TROUSERS
Trust Thankfifi‘s Wendy Gilmore to nail the boldest look amongst the bunch. If you’re feeling particularly daring, try layering an A-line mini over flared or frayed-hem jeans, this season. Find a similar floral skirt at Oasis. {Photo by Nancy H Gibbs}
