Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be a star at the Cannes Film Festival? If yes then you’re in luck, because Merle Ginsberg from The Hollywood Reporter managed to get a camera crew into all of the super-exclusive style destinations, from the swaggy gifting suite inside the Hotel Martinez to Chanel’s A-list only Haute Couture dressing room at the Hotel Majestic. The 8 minute video chronicles all of the luxury details, and when I say luxury I mean real luxury! Chanel have actually filled a bathtub with pearls (as you do), and Swarovski arrived in Cannes with 1,500 clutch bags and more than 400 sets of jewellery. Watch All the Action From The Apartment at London Fashion Week

If you were following my tweets over the course of London Fashion Week you may have noticed I was spending a lot of time at The Apartment. What is The Apartment, you may wonder. Well, launched last September by the fabulous blogger Abi Marvel, it’s a pop up event that takes place every season at LFW, providing a space for leading fashion bloggers to work, relax and grab a quick bite to eat between shows. I honestly don’t know how I survived fashion week before The Apartment. And this season there were cameras there throughout the whole week, capturing the action as it happened.

The mini web documentary has just been posted online and you can watch both episodes here. Must See: Cara Delevingne & Jourdan Dunn’s Hilarious Harlem Shake Video

Cara Jourdan Harlem Shake video

Have you ever wondered what models get up to backstage at fashion shows? There’s tons of waiting around in hair and makeup, giving them time to read a book, play Angry Birds or maybe take a power nap. That’s not how Cara Delevingne and Jourdan Dunn roll though. Backstage at the Topshop Unique Autumn/Winter 2013 show Cara and Jourdan performed the Harlem Shake. Yep, dressed in their runway looks they messed about with Rosie Tapner, letting their hair down and dancing like group of girlfriends on a night out. Watch their Harlem Shake video below:

The video has gone viral, and has already received over 23,000 hits on YouTube. I’ve watched the Kate Upton Dougie video, and that almost sent me to sleep, but Cara and Jourdan’s Harlem Shake is really entertaining. And, if anything, it proves Topshop Unique’s latest collection is easy to move in. No one likes to feel constricted by their clothing, and this video shows that won’t be a problem come Autumn/Winter 2013!

Now I’m just wondering whether Jourdan and Cara’s Harlem Shake is a regular occurrence. Perhaps they perform the routine together at every show they walk in…

Must Watch: The Lainey Gossip TED Talk on the Sociology of Gossip

Those of you who read The Saturday Fashion News Catch Up posts every weekend will know how much I love the gossip blog, Lainey Gossip. It’s my go-to-source for breaking celebrity news, fabulous entertainment analysis and laugh-out-loud commentary. It’s the one website (other than Coco’s Tea Party, obviously) that I always tell people to bookmark. Lainey, aka Elaine Lui, was invited to speak at TEDxVancouver, last October, and the Lainey Gossip TED Talk video has just been posted on Youtube. Even if you’re not big on celebrity news I urge you to take 20 minutes out of your evening to watch Elaine speak. She makes some really smart points and raises many interesting questions…

You may not think ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphics have much in common with The National Enquirer, but Elaine brilliantly shows how similar they are. She also touches upon some heavier topics – from feminism through to infidelity. And speaking of the latter, why is it we punish Kristen Stewart for cheating on Robert Pattinson, yet Ashton Kutcher’s career has gone from strength-to-strength since he cheated on Demi Moore? There are definitely some double standards there. Which, as Elaine points out, says more about us as a society than it does about Kristen and Ashton.

How Much Can You Tell About a Person From Their Lips? Quite a Lot, According to Lipstick Queen, Poppy King

Ever wondered what your lips say about you? No? Well, according to Lipstick Queen founder, Poppy King, you can tell a lot about someone’s personality just by looking at the shape of their lips. Now, I’m quite into horoscopes and believe in astrological personality traits and Star Sign compatibility (which is sadly the reason myself, an Aries, and Ryan Gosling, a Scorpio, aren’t meant to be), but when I heard about Poppy’s lip reading capabilities I was slightly dubious…

However, back in 2009 Nylon magazine captured Poppy King in action, and her lip readings appear to be pretty accurate. Take a look at video below to see how she makes her predictions:

The Hollywood Reporter Talks Awards Season Red Carpets

Awards Season 2013 is fast approaching, and The Hollywood Reporter is kicking off the red carpet discussions ahead of the game. THR’s awards analyst, Scott Feinberg, sat down with senior fashion and beauty writer, Merle Ginsberg, to talk about 2013′s Best Actress/Supporting Actress contenders. Who’s in the running? And, more importantly, what are they likely to wear on the red carpet? Watch and see…

I don’t agree with Merle’s analysis of Jennifer Lawrence (I actually think she looked much better pre-Dior) but her insight is really interesting. I’m excited to see Jessica Chastain’s red carpet style evolve over the next eight weeks, and I’ll be paying extra attention to Sally Field, Meryl Streep and Helen Mirren. Are you looking forward to Awards Season 2013?
