Boy/Girl Dressing at Moschino Cheap And Chic Pre Fall 2013

I like the Moschino Cheap And Chic Pre Fall 2013 collection. I like it a lot. And mostly because it reminds me of Ginnifer Goodwin, who is deeply stylish (and so underrated). The collection has a playful girls-who-dress-like-boys feel to it: think buttoned-up shirts, oversized coats, trouser braces and chunky leather flats paired with ankle socks. Modelled by Amra Cerkezovic (who happens to have a Ginnifer-esque pixie crop) the Pre Fall line-up looks very, very cool. Take a look:

Naturally I’d like to see Ginnifer Goodwin rocking this collection, and I also think it would appeal to Alexa Chung, Chloë Moretz and possibly even Kristen Stewart. Hopefully it will get some red carpet action in the coming months…

Do you like the Moschino Cheap And Chic Pre Fall 2013 collection? Who would you like to see in the designs?

My-Wardrobe S/S 11 Press Day

First of all I would like to apologise to all the lovely PR people out there who have invited me to press days this season. I’ve been so busy recently that I’ve been unable to go to any, so apologies to all. But I finally managed to escape and visit the My-Wardrobe S/S 2011 press day this morning, so I’m now in S/S mode.
If you’re into the 1970s Bianca Jagger look, consider Nicole Richie a style icon and have a taste for all things loose, luxe and pleated then you’re going to love S/S. My-Wardrobe will be having a bit of shake up in the new year, and they’re adding some great new labels and introducing a few higher-priced items.
Here is a quick rundown of some of my favourite pieces, which will all start to trickle onto the site from the start of 2011. Absolute favourites include the sequined IRO trousers, the Elizabeth and James palazzo pants, the Milly skirt and Equipment shirts. I guess it’s time to start saving those pennies…

Which pieces have caught your eye from My-Wardrobe’s selection? Have you started planning your S/S wardrobe?

Spring 2010: The Details

Everyone loves a good accessory, and the S/S ’10 collections have provided many lust over. Three of the details from the collections that I think will be big business this summer are bows (whether they’re in your hair or on your dress), white sunglasses with circular frames and ultra slim stiletto heels. Add them to your look now to stay ahead of the game.

Which accessories will you be working come spring?

Which Hat is Right for You?

The Fall 2009 collections were filled with quirky headwear. But how do you know if you’re more of a headband girl or a Minnie-mouse ear type?
In the style of the good old fashioned teen magazine quiz you can now work out which style is the one for you. No cheating….

Think Pink

Today is ‘National Pink Day’ according to an email I got sent yesterday from Rosangel. I have no idea how official ‘National Pink Day’ is but I’ll celebrate anyway.

Pink is an interesting colour as from the day you are born (if you are a girl, that is) you are pretty much told you will like it. You would think this would be enough to put us off the colour forever, but no, pink is still insanely popular with women. Why is it when we are allowed to dress ourselves and decorate our bedrooms in a colour we select we still turn to pink? Is it a safety net of ‘prettiness’ or is there something more to our love for the colour?

I don’t wear pink that often but pink items always catch my eye before other colours. There is the age old connotation of pink and princesses but the selection of goodies below says fashion more than princess to me. The Christopher Kane Barbie pink dress is beyond special.

Second row: Benefit poise tint by Benefit; Dress by Christopher Kane at brownsfashion.com; Clutch by Topshop; Bra and thong by La Perla at Net-a-Porter.com

And if you’re planning on celebrating National Pink Day here is Rosangel’s pink margarita recipe:

1 oz of Cranberry Juice
½ oz Premium Orange Liqueur
½ oz of Lime Juice
¼ oz of Orange Juice

Yo Minnie!

Over the last few weeks I have noticed bows seem to be everywhere. On the highstreet, on the runway, on TV presenters, in peoples hair, the list goes on.
I’m a little skeptical of bows, I’m not afraid of girly – I love pink, but something about bows seems a bit… tacky? And obviously very Minnie Mouse.
Slowly I am coming round to the idea of bows. Pinning bows made out of bits of ribbon or scraps of fabric is an easy (and cheap) way to change an old dress.
It looks like bows are going to stick around to the end of the year, they have popped up in the Fall collections across the world.

While I am still not completely sold on Minnie Mouse’s favourite accessory I am in love with her ears.
I have this very odd thing about Mouse ears, I can’t get enough of them. Some of my favourite fashion photographs involve Minnie Mouse ears. These hats at Moschino Cheap & Chic are the top of my Fall wish-list.

What do you think, is it too childish to dress like Minnie Mouse or is it OK if done well?
