Shopping For: Kitty Sweaters, Panther Skirts and Hydrangea Jeans

Shop The Edit: 1. Cat print sweater by Issa // 2. Printed camisole by Topshop // 3. Heeled sandals by ASOS // 4. Fluro shoulder bag by Miu Miu // 5. Hydrangea print jeans by J Brand // 6. Twist top jersey dress by Carven // 7. Panther print skirt by Topshop

The moment I spotted Issa’s grey cat print sweater it was love at first sight. Not only is it completely adorable and totally wearable, it’s also a talking-point piece. Wear this knit and people will complement you all day long! That’s a guarantee. The Issa design is my top choice on this week’s shopping wishlist, and is complemented by Topshop’s fun panther skirt. Pair them together for a fabulous feline fashion look and accessorise with a burst of bright yellow.

Carven’s twist top jersey dress shows there’s no better colour combination for Spring/Summer 2013 than marl grey and fluorescent yellow, so I’ll be working the colour contrast throughout the season. What’s on your wishlist, this week? Do you like my shopping selection? Which designs are catching your eye? Let me know…

Cash, Credit, Debit… Flared Hem Mini Skirts

Carven flare hem skirt resort 2013 After what feels like half a century, peplums are finally over. O-V-E-R I tell you! Wear a peplum top/skirt/dress now and you’ll look like you’re stuck in summer 2010. If you were a big fan of peplum waists then I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but luckily there’s a chic new alternative ready to take centre stage… the flared hem mini skirt.

Carven’s Resort 2013 collection [left] first brought the flared hem mini skirt to popular attention. They feel fun, fresh (kind of like a reverse peplum) and look fantastic dressed up or down. I promise it’s one Spring 2013 buy you won’t regret investing in – especially as early trend adopters like Man Repeller Leandra Medine and Moda Operandi’s Taylor Tomasi Hill have been championing the look for a while now. In a few months’ time expect to see Hollywood’s top “fashion stars” prancing around in flared mini skirts too!

So, where can you buy into the trend? Currently Carven and Miu Miu are leading the way with their block-colour, flared skirts. And on the high street Topshop are really investing in the look, producing a wide range of options. I’ve narrowed the search down to three of my favourites, and there’s something for every budget. Take a look…

Miu Miu’s Spring/Summer 2013 Accessories Suit All Seasons

Looking back over the key Spring/Summer 2013 collections, earlier this week, I noticed how varied Miu Miu‘s accessory selection was. There were accessories suitable for spring, summer, autumn and winter; with everything from embellished flat sandals to fur stoles appearing on the runway. It looks like Miuccia Prada had Britian’s up-and-down summers in mind when she put this collection together — let’s just hope summer 2013 calls for Miu Miu‘s fierce pumps, rather than the pale pink leather gloves!

Were you a fan of Miu Miu’s S/S 2013 Collection? Which Miu Miu accessories are your favourites?

How to Wear Pink Without Looking Like a Barbie Doll

Pink has been having a colour moment since the beginning of the year. It started with the rose cocoon coat in Raf Simons’ final collection at Jil Sander, then came Anna Wintour’s rumoured request that all Vogue editors wear pink to the Met Gala, and since then a host of stylish women – from Cameron Diaz through to Kate Middleton – have slipped into pink designs. So how can you get in on the act without falling into the dreaded Barbie doll trap? Here are three outfit suggestions for work, play and weekends:

Work: Cream vest with gold trim by Topshop // Pink lipstick by Paul & Joe // Vintage style croc watch by ASOS // Tweed pants by 3.1 Phillip Lim // Scarf by Lily & Lionel Breakthrough Breast Cancer // Pink pumps by Pour La Victoire Play: Silk and chiffon dress by Tibi // Star necklace by People Tree // Spike earrings by Pieces // Glitter nail polish by Louise Gray at Topshop // Wedge heels by Balenciaga // Bag bag by Overture Judith Leiber Chill: Pink wool jacket by Marni // Glitter sunglasses by Miu Miu // Skinny jeans by Topshop // Leather gloves by Topshop // Leopard trainers by River Island… and that’s a wrap!

This post was created to highlight Breast Cancer Awareness Month. UGG Australia set me the challenge to feature the colour pink on Coco’s Tea Party (not too difficult) and in return they will donate £500 to The Haven Breast Cancer Charity. UGG are also supporting the cause with their Pink Ribbon collection

Have you started wearing pink more often? How are you supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month?

Cash, Credit, Debit: Fashion’s Prettiest Sneakers

Blame the nineties fashion revival or simply put it down to the backlash against platform heels, but it’s impossible to ignore that fact that trainers are having a style moment right now. From Liberty’s sell-out collaboration with Nike, through to Ryan Lochte’s signature green sneakers, everyone is slowly becoming obsessed with sporty pumps

Plimsoll brand Superga has cleverly fashioned-up its image, joining forces with the Olsen twins (the brand’s new creative directors), Alexa Chung (the face of latest ad campaign) and Henry Holland (a recent collaborator). The clever marketing has clearly worked, as Superga has become the go-to brand for fashion obsessives.

Get in on the act with these girly pumps. Switch them with your ballet flats and you’re good to go!

I’ve been wearing my bright blue and lime green Puma sneakers with skinny jeans all summer. They’re so comfy that I’ve started to resent my collection of heels. A dangerous sign…

Have you started wearing trainers/sneakers? Which brands and styles are your favourites?
