Chloë Moretz and Lea Michele Wear Highlighter Brights to the People’s Choice Awards

The 2013 People’s Choice Awards took place in LA, last night, and there were two stars that shone brightly on the red carpet: Chloë Moretz and Lea Michele. Both actresses stood out in highlighter brights, with 15-year-old Chloë opting for a neon-yellow Simone Rocha dress and Lea dazzling in a pink Elie Saab design. It was a great start to Awards Season, as we’ll be inundated with traditional red carpet gowns over the next eight weeks, and the colourful mini-dresses added an element of surprise. Something tells me we won’t be seeing any highlighter brights at the Oscars, so make the most of it while you can…

Lea Michele Rocks a Cropped Hairstyle for Marie Claire US

Lea Michelle covers the January 2013 issue of Marie Claire US, and the glossy magazine has given her a dramatic new look. Lea’s signature wavy brunette locks are out – and instead the 26-year-old actress is rocking a cropped hairstyle throughout her editorial. But don’t panic if you’re not a fan of the shorter ‘do – it’s just a bit of clever styling, and Lea wears her shoulder-length hair down on the cover. Would you like to see her follow in Anne Hathaway’s footsteps and go for the chop though? Vote in the CTP poll…

Do you like Lea Michele’s cropped hairstyle?

Lea Michele Covers Flare Magazine, January 2013

The 2013 covers are starting to roll in! It’s crazy, isn’t it? First up we have Glee star Lea Michele on the January 2013 issue of Flare magazine. The 26-year-old posed for the Canadian glossy in a lace Alberta Ferretti dress and massive Stephen Webster ring. I like the black and white cover, as it reminds me of ELLE UK’s cool subscriber editions, but I’m not completely sold on the yellow text. What do you think?

Speaking exclusively to Flare, Lea admitted she’s not that crazy about fashion, saying:

“I’ll do a little shop, stock up on some things, and that’s it. I mean, when I go to do events and stuff like that, I definitely feel I can bump it up. I have an amazing stylist, Estee Stanley*, who is so wonderful. She always makes me feel so comfortable and beautiful in my own skin, and the dresses are just, like, extra points.”

You can read more from Lea Michele’s Flare magazine interview – plus see the accompanying editorial – at flare.com now. Are you pleased to see Lea Michele on Flare’s January cover? Do you like her shoot?

*FYI: Estee Stanley also styles Jessica Biel and has worked with Penelope Cruz and Ashley Olsen too.

Jessica Alba & Lea Michele Attend the Atelier Versace Fall 2012 Show

Versace opened Paris Haute Couture week in style, last night, showing their Autumn/Winter 2012 Atelier Versace collection at the Ritz. The famous hotel was Gianni Versace’s favourite venue for couture, so it was a natural fit for Atelier Versace’s return to the runway. As with any Versace show the front row was packed full of famous faces: Elizabeth Banks, M.I.A, Pierce Brosnan, Christina Hendricks, Fan Bingbing, Jessica Alba and Lea Michele. The two LA ladies worked contrasting looks – studded leather vs a demure fitted dress. Which is your favourite?
Which look do you prefer: Jessica Alba in a leather LBD or Lea Michele in zesty orange?

See the Atelier Versace collection in full HERE and check out the front row gallery HERE.

What do you make of Jessica Alba and Lea Michele’s front row style? Which look got your vote? And do you think we’ll see either of them at the Christian Dior show today?

The 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards: Worst Dressed

Piper Perabo in Theyskens’ Theory: How did this happen? How? I loved the Spring/Summer 2012 Theyskens’ Theory collection so am really disappointed this dress didn’t work well on the red carpet. It’s mostly down to the fact Piper posed with her foot out in almost every shot. Are we supposed to be excited by the fact you’re wearing Louboutins? What is that pose?
Sarah Michelle Gellar in Monique Lhuillier: This was the worst dress of the night. By a mile! And ironically it’s not even that bad a dress when you see it on the runway – it’s just a really, really awful choice for the red carpet. The dress is overwhelming SMG’s tiny frame and the print just makes matters worse. Still, at least she’s smiling…
Lea Michele in Marchesa: I usually think Lea looks great in Marchesa, but last night’s red carpet choice just wasn’t working for me. Although, in fairness, 60% of the problem was with the hair. I’m sure there will be some who do still like this look, but for me it was one of the night’s biggest disappointments.
I also wasn’t keen on Madonna’s dress (great from the waist up, but terrible skirt), Natalie Portman’s Marilyn-esque Lanvin number, or Jessica Alba in Gucci. Who do you think deserved the “worst dressed” title at last night’s Golden Globe Awards?

Lea Michele is a Flower Girl for Harper’s Bazaar

As I don’t watch Glee I’ve never really understood all of the fuss about Lea Michele. So when her September 2011 Harper’s Bazaar US cover was released, last week, I took little notice. But I’ve just had a look at her editorial and Lea is suddenly looking a lot more interesting. She looks fantastic in the floral Valentino dress, below left.

I’d like to see Lea rock a Valentino dress on the red carpet. She also models looks by Moschino, Lanvin [above image] and Giambattista Valli in her Harper’s editorial – which was photographed by Mark Seliger. See all of the pictures and read her accompanying interview at harpersbazaar.com.
