W Magazine Photographs Stars Without Makeup

I hate those tacky tabloid magazine features that constantly alert you to stars without makeup, stars with celulite, stars with sweat stains etc, etc. Especially as they all continue to use that photo of Cameron Diaz suffering from a break-out before the 2002 release of Gangs of New York. It’s so boring/predictable. But anyway… for W magazine’s annual ‘movie issue’ Juergen Teller photographed an assortment of A-list stars with little or no makeup. And instead of looking like an UsWeekly special it’s really cool. Kristen Stewart is moody in an Isabel Marant leather dress, Naomi Watts dazzles the camera with a big Hollywood smile and Kerry Washington looks fresh-faced in a Burberry trench coat. Here’s a preview:

The full editorial is now online at wmagazine.com and also features Keira Knightley (with makeup), Nicole Kidman, Elle Fanning, Marion Cotillard, Amy Adams, Rachel Weisz and Frieda Pinto. It’s definitely worth having a proper look!

Hide & Chic: The November 2012 Edition

It’s crazy to think that it’s nearly the end of the year. Soon everyone will be talking about Christmas and New Year, and then we have Awards Season to look forward to. But for now let’s just enjoy November and the exciting fashion/beauty launches coming up over the next four weeks. The Hide & Chic edit has everything covered, so you won’t miss a single collaboration or emerging mini-trend…

Vampire Chic: The final Twilight Saga movie, Breaking Dawn – Part 2, is released on November 16th, marking the end of the vampire-crazy era. Celebrate with Markus Lupfer’s vampire sequin knit and keep an eye out for Kristen Stewart’s red carpet appearances. There’s the whole will-they-won’t-they PR stunt building up around a reconciled Kstew/Rpatz red carpet walk, but I’m more interested to see which labels Kristen chooses to wear. Will it be Balenciaga again or perhaps a younger, lesser-known designer?

Clinique Chubby Stick Intense: November 16th also marks the release of Clinique’s new Chubby Stick Intense range. The popular moisturising lip balms are back, with eight new shades in – you guessed it – much more intense colours. Find them at Clinique counters from the 16th, for £16 each, or shop the current Chubby Stick collection now at Sephora and Selfridges.

Novelty Eye Lashes: Now that the fuss around nail art has died down it’s time for eye lashes to have their moment in the spotlight. Novelty eye lashes are quickly approaching trend-status, with Paperself’s pretty paper lashes (shaped like the London skyline and peacocks feathers, amongst other things) now stocked on ASOS. They may not be particularly practical for everyday wear, but their great for parties!

Felt Hats: Perfect for keeping dry (and avoiding bad hair days) in the cold winter rain, wide-brimmed felt hats are a wardrobe necessity this Autumn/Winter. Rag & Bone’s red fedora [pictured above] is my top choice, but you’ll find similar options at ASOS and Topshop.

Maison Martin Margiela for H&M: The launch party took place last week, but the Margiela for H&M collection doesn’t drop until November 15th. As always, the designs are expected to go fast, so if you’ve got your eye on the sweet wrapper clutch bag and perspex heel boots I suggest you get up very early on the 15th. Set your iPhone alarms now…

The Kardashian Kollection: Love them or hate them, you can’t deny it will be interesting to see how Kourtney, Kim and Khloe’s Kardashian Kollection will be received when it launches in the UK at Dorothy Perkins. Kourtney and Kim arrive in London on November 8th (Khloe will be stuck in LA due to her X Factor commitments), so stay tuned for updates on official launch. I’ll be there…

Hide… Ballet Flats: Even if you have freakishly warm feet, ballet flats just look odd in the winter – even the super cute bunny designs, pictured above. Now that November is here it’s officially time to swap your ballerinas for biker boots.

Which November 2012 launches are you excited about? Will you be standing in line for MMM at H&M and the Kardashian Kollection at Dorothy Perkins?

Kristen Stewart Wears Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2013

Whatever your opinion on Kristen Stewart, you have to admit she’s been upping her game on the red carpet recently. Last night the 22-year-old actress was in Tokyo for the Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2 premiere, and she chose a look from the Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2013 collection. I think this is a great look for Kristen, as it fits perfectly with her casual style but also has a strong fashion twist. If only she’d added a pop of colour with heels of some playful accessories…

Do you like Kristen Stewart’s latest red carpet look?
I’m glad Kristen has got off to a strong start with her Breaking Dawn promotional wardrobe. I can’t wait to see if she has any big gown moments at the major premieres. Which labels would you like to see her in?

Vote for Your Favourite UK October 2012 Cover

All of the big glossy covers for October 2012 have dropped in the UK. Gwen Stefani fronts the new issue of ELLE wearing a Peter Pilotto and McQ mash-up, Emma Watson looks beautiful on Glamour’s cover, Olivia Palermo rocks Christian Dior florals for InStyle, Cat Deeley played a game of tennis for Tatler, Harper’s Bazaar photographed Joan Smalls and Laetitia Casta and Vogue got an exclusive with Kristen Stewart. It’s a pretty fabulous selection, I must say…

I’ve narrowed the selection down to the four big celebrity shoots, as I’m keen to know which October cover is your favourite. I have a sneaking suspicion Emma Watson might win, but perhaps the Twilight fans will come together and give the title to Kristen Stewart. Get voting!

Kristen Stewart Covers British Vogue, October 2012

The October 2012 issue of British Vogue is covered by Kristen Stewart. Modelling a printed dress from Gucci‘s Autumn/Winter 2012 collection, the 22-year-old Twilight star looks haunted on the cover. An interesting choice (along with the coverline “on love and living dangerously”), seeing as Kristen has been publicly shamed for cheating on her co-star, Robert Pattinson.

This issue is sure to be a strong seller for Vogue, as the interest in the KStew/RPatz romance doesn’t appear to be dwindling – especially as Kristen has only been photographed once since the scandal. The big question is whether the Vogue feature will help Kristen’s image or cause even more damage. I guess we’ll just have to wait until her interview is released to find out…

Kristen Stewart Wears Her Red Balenciaga Jacket in Marie Claire’s September 2012 Issue

Due to recent events images of Kristen Stewart are being pushed at me from every angle. So it now feels like I know the entire contents of the Twilight star’s wardrobe. Take the photos of Kristen posing in the fountain at Five Hotel, during the Cannes Film Festival, for example. The images appear in Marie Claire‘s September 2012 issue, and usually I’d just think “what a lovely Balenciaga jacket.” But now it’s “wow, Kristen sure wears that design a lot”, as I now know she also owns the quilted leather motorcycle jacket in black, and rarely takes it off. I guess it’s one of the many perks to being the face of Balenciaga
As you know, I’m usually not a big fan of Kristen’s style, but I’m really liking this outfit. You can see the full shoot over at marieclaire.com now. It’s definitely a look to add to inspiration boards. I’ve done my best to recreate it, below, but I’m afraid it’s virtually impossible to find a similar leather jacket on the high street. Here are some of the best lookalikes currently online:
