Naomi Watts Covers Vogue Australia in Gucci & Here Are 6 More Gucci Looks She Should Try

naomi watts vogue australia february 2013 gucci dress Naomi Watts covers the February 2013 issue of Vogue Australia, modelling a spectacular turquoise Gucci gown. I know it’s only the beginning of the year, but this is surely going to be one of the top covers from 2013, right? It’s absolutely gorgeous!

The 44-year-old actress is currently promoting her latest movie, The Impossible, which tells the true story of a family caught in the 2004 tsunami. Naomi has received a Golden Globe nomination for her performance, and she’s also expected to be up for an Oscar.

This naturally means I’m very excited about her Awards Season wardrobe. And after this fabulous Vogue cover I’m hoping Naomi – and her stylist Anna Bingemann – opt for more Gucci gowns. It would be a crime not to!

Incase you need persuading on the idea (and you really shouldn’t) I’ve handpicked six Gucci looks perfect for Naomi. There’s a bubble-gum-pink trouser suit from the Resort 2013 collection which would be perfect for a photocall or luncheon, another eye-catching green gown, and a failsafe LBD from the brand new Pre Fall line…

My favourite looks are the yellow strapless dress (we need another yellow moment to compete with Michelle Williams at the 2006 Academy Awards) and the leopard halter-neck gown. Which Gucci looks would you like to see Naomi wear?

Four Bond Girl Worthy Spring/Summer 2013 Collections

Turn on the TV today and you’ll see someone talking about James Bond’s 50th anniversary, the most popular Bond Girls and/or Adele’s Skyfall theme song. The first James Bond movie, Dr No, hit the big screen exactly 50 years ago, so everyone’s going crazy for Bond today. Instead of doing a run-down of the best Bond Girl fashion moments (it’s a story that’s been done to death and, if I’m honest, requires too much research) I’ve decided to look to the Spring/Summer 2013 collections. What would a Bond Girl wear in SS13? I’ve narrowed it down to four key collections: Tom Ford [above], Elie Saab, J.Mendel and Gucci. All four collections featured the signature Bond Girl elements: low-cut necklines, thigh-high-slits, mega-watt glamour and tons of sex-appeal. Take a look…

From top: Elie Saab, Gucci, J.Mendel

Are you pleased to see Bond Girl glamour on the SS13 runways? Do you have a favourite Bond Girl or James Bond fashion moment? And are you excited about the upcoming release of Skyfall?

Kristen Stewart Covers British Vogue, October 2012

The October 2012 issue of British Vogue is covered by Kristen Stewart. Modelling a printed dress from Gucci‘s Autumn/Winter 2012 collection, the 22-year-old Twilight star looks haunted on the cover. An interesting choice (along with the coverline “on love and living dangerously”), seeing as Kristen has been publicly shamed for cheating on her co-star, Robert Pattinson.

This issue is sure to be a strong seller for Vogue, as the interest in the KStew/RPatz romance doesn’t appear to be dwindling – especially as Kristen has only been photographed once since the scandal. The big question is whether the Vogue feature will help Kristen’s image or cause even more damage. I guess we’ll just have to wait until her interview is released to find out…

Do you like Kristen Stewart’s British Vogue cover? Do you still care about the affair scandal?

Blake Lively Poses in a Gucci Dress for US Vogue

After a quiet start to the year, which even saw her skip the Met Gala, Blake Lively is back in action, posing for the September 2012 issue of US Vogue. The Gossip Girl actress modelled a metallic Gucci dress and spoke to the magazine about her new role as the face of Gucci Premiere perfume. I prefer this image to both of Blake’s previous Vogue covers. It’s gorgeous!

This week also saw the release of the first promotional trailer for the sixth and final season of Gossip Girl. Dan tells Serena “I don’t know who you are anymore”, Serena possibly marries a total random (didn’t that already happen?) and Blair tells Chuck “I’m all in”. Oh, the drama…

Check out Blake Lively’s US Vogue feature in the September issue, on newsstands now. The new season of Gossip Girl returns on October 8th. Are you excited? Do you plan to watch?

Marion Cotillard Covers WSJ Magazine Wearing Gucci

Marion Cotillard looks spectacular on the cover of WSJ Magazine‘s July/August 2012 issue. This has got to be one of her strongest magazine covers to date. The French actress wears the same Fall 2012 Gucci gown that Emma Stone wore to Spider-Man‘s recent Paris premiere.
Marion and the beaded Gucci dress are both so beautiful the cover needs little else. A coat of dark red lipstick is more than enough to complete her winning look. The Dark Knight Rises is Marion’s latest project, so I’m crossing my fingers she’ll bring this level of glamour to the red carpet! Do you rate Marion Cotillard’s WSJ Magazine cover? Are you a fan of this Gucci gown?

Zooey Deschanel Covers Marie Claire US May 2012

Ever since New Girl hit TV screens I’ve been addicted, so it’s nice to see Zooey Deschanel covering the May 2012 issue of Marie Claire US. I think it’s quite surprising that this is one of Zooey Deschanel’s first major glossy magazine covers, as everyone I know loves New Girl.

Zooey models a look from Gucci’s Spring 2012 collection for the cover, and her accompanying editorial is filled with yet more Gucci, as well as sultry LBD’s by Hervé Léger, Reem Acra and Valentino. It’s nice to see a different side to Zooey (Marie Claire report that she arrived at the shoot wearing a plaid skirt and cream knit, both by Sandro) but I’m not so keen on the actual cover shot. There’s something quite awkward and uncomfortable about the pose.

Are you pleased to see Zooey on the cover of Marie Claire US? Do you think Gucci was the right choice for her shoot? Will you buy the May 2012 issue? [photo Tesh, image marieclaire.com]
