The Rose Byrne Hair Diaries: From the ‘Anna Wintour’ to Beachy Waves

Late last year I discovered the American legal thriller Damages. Somehow the show completely passed me by when it began in 2007, but I became completely addicted and watched all five seasons in quick succession. If you like The Good Wife and enjoyed the first series of Revenge you need to order the boxset/start watching the show on Netflix asap. You won’t regret it. Especially as it stars Rose Byrne, my latest girl crush. The Australian actress has always been on my radar when it comes to the red carpet (she looks great in Marc Jacobs), but I never noticed how fabulous her hair is until I got hooked on Damages. Whether it’s a relaxed up-do, bold waves or “the Anna Wintour”, Rose always rocks it…

I now can’t wait to see Rose Byrne in I Give It a Year. Hopefully she’ll provide even more hair inspiration. Are you a fan of Rose Byrne? Do you like her style? And which of the above hairstyles is your favourite?

The Revenge Cast Get a Fashion Makeover in ELLE US

Revenge cast ELLE shoot Emily van Camp Christa B Allen Ashley Madekwe

I don’t know about you, but I’m completely obsessed with Revenge. I watched the first season back-to-back in less than three days, and I’m enjoying the second series, which started in the UK last week. The show is pretty stylish as it is (I love Ashley’s wardrobe), but the cast all received a makeover in US ELLE’s February issue. Gone are the body-con dresses and the bright colours, and in their place are slick tailored looks by Jason Wu, Haider Ackermann and Alexander Wang. It’s pretty fabulous, so you must check it out. My favourite looks are, of course, Christa B. Allen (aka Charlotte Grayson) in Alberta Ferretti and Ashley Madekwe (aka Ashley Davenport) in frilly J.W. Anderson shorts.

Do you watch Revenge? Are you excited to see the cast in ELLE magazine? Which looks are your favourites?

Sarah Jessica Parker’s "Glee" Wardrobe Revealed

I’ve never watched Glee because I generally find musicals really annoying, but I’m pretty sure their casting director is my secret twin. Both Sarah Jessica Parker and Kate Hudson are set to make guest appearances in the new season, and my “older man crush”, John Stamos, also had recurring role in the show. I would make exactly the same decisions if I was in charge. I’d probably also find a way to get Victoria Beckham and Karl Lagerfeld in there too…
Anyway, more images have been released of Sarah Jessica Parker’s upcoming appearance, in which she plays a Vogue editor, and I’m absolutely loving her look. You may remember Anna Wintour helped SJP chose her Glee wardrobe, and together they selected a tartan Faster Than Paris dress. The pleated number appeared in the September issue of US Vogue, where Sarah Jessica called it “one of the greatest pieces I’ve seen in the last five years.” What compliment!

I guess now we just sit back and watch retailers race to get hold of this dress. SJP’s influence always creates a waiting list! Here’s a preview of the new episode, starring another fab frock…

Style Watch: "Revenge" Star Christa B. Allen

The second season of Revenge starts at the end of September (if you’re watching on UK time you’re still catching up) and I’m super excited. I already knew Emily VanCamp (Emily/Amanda) from Brothers and Sisters and Ashley Madekwe (Ashley Davenport) writes the brilliant fashion blog Ring My Bell. But what about Christa B. Allen, who plays Charlotte? It turns out the 20-year-old actress played a teenage Jennifer Garner in 13 Going on 30, and has since developed a pretty awesome red carpet look. Check out some of Christa’s recent fashion moments:

There haven’t been any new additions to the stylish Young Hollywood set since everyone went crazy for Hailee Steinfeld, Chloë Moretz and Elle Fanning, so it’s nice to have a new style-star in the making to watch. So far Christa has stuck with big-name brands, wearing Donna Karan, Armani and Jean Paul Gaultier – it will be interesting to see if she starts to mix up her look with younger labels for the Revenge season two promotion. I’m thinking Thakoon and Tibi…

Fashion Flashback: Gossip Girl’s First Ever Episode

Remember the first ever episode of Gossip Girl? The somewhat ridiculous yet totally addictive show first hit our TV screens in 2007, and it all comes to an end this autumn, when the final series premieres. Will Blair and Chuck end up together? Will Serena ever have a bad hair day? Will Nate finally get a clue? We’ll just have to wait and see. But all we really care about is the fashion, right? Turns out Gossip Girl wasn’t always dripping in Chanel Haute Couture. Revisit the pilot episode and you’ll find Serena in a dull striped T-shirt and icky brown leather jacket…
Blair scored a little better, but her preppy Reese-Witherspooon-with-attitude style hadn’t fully developed. And Chuck, Nate and Dan don’t look so hot either; all three are rocking some pretty questionable hairstyles. It’s time to dig out those season one box-sets and have a giggle…

Gossip Girl returns to The CW for its sixth and final season on October 8th. ITV2 will follow.

Do you plan to watch the last ever season of Gossip Girl? Are you sad to see the show end?

There’s an André Leon Talley Reality Show On the Way

If you’re a hopeless reality TV addict like me you’ll love this news. Yesterday Bravo announced that an André Leon Talley reality show is in the works. Fashion Stories of NYC (it should have been titled My Eyes Are Starving For Beauty, but whatever…) appears to be a design based talent show, but I hope there’s also some Keeping Up with the Kardashians style reality in there. Watching André Leon Talley do “normal” things like head to the tennis court with his custom Louis Vuitton accessories would be all the entertainment I need. Actual TV gold!

In an ideal world André’s new show would involve the following scenarios:

  •  André goes incognito at New York Fashion Week. But will his disguise fool the street style photographers? Cue chaos and drama…
  • André takes a cookery course with keen chef Blake Lively after Anna Wintour attempts to “inaugurate” him to healthy eating. Cue chaos and drama…
  • André and Karl Lagerfeld go on vacation after deciding they both work too hard and need a break. A road trip around France is decided upon but one of André’s LV suitcases goes missing. Cue chaos and drama…
Are you excited about André Leon Talley’s Bravo show? Will you be watching?
