Dakota Fanning Covers US Glamour’s March Issue With Curly Hair

Dakota Fanning Glamour March 2013 cover

At first glance I thought US Glamour’s March 2013 issue was covered by the star of The Carrie Diaries, but it’s actually Dakota Fanning with a perm. The 18-year-old actress was photographed for the cover by Ellen von Unwerth, and models a Marc Jacobs Mickey Mouse sweater with a sequined skirt by Jonathan Saunders. Although it’s nice to see Dakota in a different style of dress (she usually sticks with pale pastel gowns and poker-straight hair) I wish Glamour had opted for a more sophisticated cover look. The combination of ringlets and Mickey Mouse is a bit too tween-y for my liking…

Are you pleased to see Dakota Fanning on Glamour’s latest cover? What are your thoughts on her cover look?

Dakota Fanning Covers InStyle UK’s December 2012 Issue

Dakota Fanning twiddles her hair on the December 2012 cover of InStyle UK. The 18-year-old actress is currently promoting the final Twilight movie, Breaking Dawn – Part 2, and I must say it makes a nice change from seeing KStew and Ashley Greene on all the covers. Dakota is wearing Chanel Resort 2013.

Speaking to InStyle about the Kristen Stewart cheating scandal, Dakota said: “Everyone thinks they have the right to, you know, publicise the struggles and sadness and heartbreak and all of that. It’s like, ‘Why do you think you are the authority to judge people’s experiences?’”

I can’t wait to see the accompanying editorial, as I love Dakota’s cover. I’m definitely buying this issue! It hits newsstands on November 8th, and you can watch the behind-the-scenes video HERE.

Previewing the Chanel Little Black Jacket Exhibition in London

Chanel’s much-anticipated photographic exhibition, The Little Black Jacket, officially opens today for its three-week run at The Saatchi Gallery in London. I know you’ve all been waiting patiently for its arrival, and I was lucky enough to enjoy a sneak preview of the Chanel exhibition yesterday afternoon, just as the finishing touches were being put in place. I don’t want to spoil too much, but here’s a sneak peek…

The exhibition includes 113 portraits, all photographed by Karl Lagerfeld. You’ll have fun spotting all of the famous faces featured, as everyone from Kirsten Dunst to Kanye West posed in Chanel’s little black jacket. My favourite images were of Anna Wintour, Sarah Jessica Parker and toddler Hudson Kroenig.

The Little Black Jacket exhibition runs at The Saatchi Gallery in London from today until November 4th. There is also an accompanying Chanel book, The Little Black Jacket: Chanel’s Classic Revisited, which you can buy at the gallery or on Amazon (£42). Admission is free for everyone.

Trend Driven: Oriental Inspired for Fall 2012

Osman’s Autumn/Winter 2012 collection was one of my London Fashion Week highlights, and I’ve since become totally obsessed with the season’s oriental designs. The trend has already made its red carpet debut, with Dakota Fanning wearing a striking Proenza Schouler design to the CFDA Awards and Diane Kruger slipping into a chic black and white Derek Lam number.
If you’re not quite ready to go for the full head-to-toe look incorporate oriental influences into your wardrobe by mixing embroidery and bold silk brocades with leather and classic tailoring. This is one trend that works just as well in small doses as it does in full force…
Are you a fan of Fall 2012′s oriental inspired designs? How do you plan to style this trend?

Dakota Fanning Covers Wonderland Magazine

How much do you love this cover? A lot? I’m obsessed. As you know I’ve been a fan of Dakota Fanning for a while now, and this cover is easily one of her best to date. The Twilight actress was photographed by Cedric Buchet for the April/May 2012 issue of Wonderland magazine and models a quirky look on the cover. The mouse crawling out of her straw hat is such an adorable finishing touch! I can’t wait to see the accompanying editorial…

Dakota Fanning’s ELLE UK Newsstand Cover

We’ve already seen ELLE UK‘s February 2012 subscribers cover, featuring Dakota Fanning, and now the newsstand cover has finally been released too. Dakota wears a look from Prada’s Spring Summer 2012 collection, which I absolutely adore. I think this month I prefer ELLE’s newsstand cover, for once.

SEE THE SUBSCRIBERS COVER HERE

The 17 year-old actress was photographed for the magazine by David Slijper and it’s her first major glossy cover. Talking to ELLE about the rising number of young actresses becoming international style icons Dakota says, “I don’t think there should be an age limit on an interest, do you know what I mean?”

The February issue hits newsstands tomorrow.

Will you be buying the issue? Which is your favourite cover, the newsstand edition or the subscribers copy?
