Amy Adams Covers ELLE UK July 2013 in Christian Dior

Amy Adams ELLE UK Cover Amy Adams covers the July 2013 issue of ELLE UK. I’m really looking forward to receiving my copy, as I’m a big Amy Adams fan and definitely think she deserves more attention from fashion magazines. But that said I’m not overly keen on the newsstand cover image, so I wasn’t originally planning on posting this story. However, I just realised if I featured the cover I could also share one of the musical numbers from Enchanted, and I think we could all use some Disney magic today! Watch “That’s How You Know” below. And if you haven’t already seen Enchanted you need to order the DVD right now. You won’t regret it, I promise!

Anyway, back to ELLE UK… Amy Adams is promoting her latest movie, Man Of Steel, and models a Christian Dior coat and silk body on the newsstand cover. At present the subscriber’s edition hasn’t been released, but I’m hoping it will be a little more daring. I miss ELLE UK’s bold and graphic covers. Let’s just hope Amy unleashed her inner supermodel in the accompanying Jan Walters editorial. I can’t wait to see it.

Are you pleased to see Amy Adams on the cover of ELLE UK? And is Enchanted one of your favourite Disney films?

Christy Turlington Covers Harper’s Bazaar in Tom Ford & Balenciaga

Nobody can work a cover shoot quite like one of the original supermodels, so I’m thrilled to see Christy Turlington has been photographed for the June 2013 issue of Harper’s Bazaar US. Christy models a Balenciaga dress on the newsstand edition (you may recognise it, as Carey Mulligan wore the same look to the Met Gala) and an OTT Tom Ford design for the subscriber’s cover. Both images are stunning – I think Harper’s Bazaar definitely have a bestseller on their hands…

Christy Turlington Harper's Bazaar US June 2013

The only thing that annoys me about this cover is the fact they felt the need to mention Christy is “fabulous at 44″, as if it’s some kind of miracle that anyone over 35 could still be fabulous. Why do magazines continue with this annoying “fabulous at [enter non-shocking age here]” stick? Surely if someone is fabulous at 39 they’ll continue to be fabulous into their 40′s and beyond. It’s insanely irritating. Just say Christy Turlington is fabulous. Simple.

But anyway… Do you like the June 2013 Christy Turlington Harper’s Bazaar cover? Which of the two is your favourite?

Kate Upton Covers US Vogue as the “Hottest Supermodel on Earth”

Kate Upton has scored her first ever US Vogue cover, posing in a Dolce & Gabbana bodysuit for the June 2013 issue. The 20-year-old model was photographed for the magazine by Mario Testino and her accompanying editorial sticks to an All-American Girl theme. This isn’t Kate’s first Vogue cover – she appeared on British Vogue’s January 2013 edition – but it’s definitely the most prestigious. Especially as US Vogue have named her “the hottest supermodel on earth.”

Kate Upton US Vogue Cover June 2013

I really like the set-up and styling of this cover, but I’m not 100% sold on the ’90s Meg Ryan hair. Perhaps Kate Upton was rocking a lot of hair mousse on this shoot? According to the cover “hair mousse is back”, so maybe I just need to get with the times…

Anyway, you can see more from Kate Upton’s June 2013 US Vogue cover shoot at vogue.com right now. Let me know what you think of the cover in the comments section.

Winona Ryder Goes Punk-Goth For Her Interview Magazine Cover

It’s a shame Winona Ryder didn’t attend the Met Gala, last night, because I think she would have gone to town with the punk theme. The 41-year-old actress covers the May 2013 issue of Interview magazine, and the Craig McDean shoot is a nice mix of punk and goth. It takes a lot of skill to make a Giorgio Armani dress look dark and edgy, but Winona does just that in her hauntingly beautiful cover portrait. How will anyone be able to resist this issue once it hits newsstands?

Winona Ryder Interview Magazine

Anna Wintour rarely gets it wrong, but she definitely missed a trick when Winona Ryder was left off the Met Gala guest list. Rooney Mara may have brought the punk-goth mix to the red carpet in Givenchy couture, but Winona still does that look better than anybody. See her accompanying Interview magazine editorial HERE.

Carey Mulligan is Pretty in Pink Prada for Harper’s Bazaar UK

Carey Mulligan Harper's Bazaar UK

Those of you who were disappointed with Carey Mulligan’s May 2013 US Vogue cover are sure to be pleased when you see her latest magazine shoot. The 27-year-old Great Gatsby star was photographed by Tom Allen for the June 2013 issue of Harper’s Bazaar UK. Both the newsstand and subscriber covers are absolutely beautiful, with Carey modelling a pale pink Prada design. And the accompanying editorial promises looks from Erdem and Bottega Veneta.

Very few magazine covers have impressed me so far this year, but I’ll be rushing out to buy a copy of Harper’s Bazaar on May 2nd. This is definitely one issue I want in my collection! Do you like Carey Mulligan’s Harper’s Bazaar UK cover?

See Carey Mulligan’s ‘Great Gatsby’ Themed US Vogue Editorial

Carey Mulligan Vogue US cover May 2013 Carey Mulligan covers the May 2013 issue of US Vogue, appearing in character as Daisy Buchanan from The Great Gatsby. The 27-year-old British actress models a lime green Oscar de la Renta gown on the cover and was photographed for the magazine by Mario Testino. Carey also had the pleasure of working with Grace Coddington – who rarely styles celebrity features, but has always made an exception for Miss Mulligan.

So far the cover isn’t getting a lot of love online. The biggest issue appears to be Carey’s expression (which I have to admit, is bothering me a bit too) and the metallic cloche hat. Oscar de la Renta’s green AW13 design is also splitting opinion, which I find surprising. I know it’s an unusual colour, but I personally think it’s one of the most exciting dresses to cover Vogue in recent months. If not years! I truly love it.

Anyway, if Carey Mulligan’s second US Vogue cover has left you feeling disappointed you’ll be pleased to hear the accompanying editorial is flawless. The Great Gatsby theme continues, with Carey modelling 1920′s-inspired looks from the likes of Alexander McQueen, Dior, Nina Ricci and Chanel. Here are my two favourite images:
