The Rihanna for River Island Collection Rocks London Fashion Week

On Saturday evening the fashion pack congregated on New Oxford Street for the launch of the Rihanna for River Island collection. It was the hot ticket at London Fashion Week, and the line outside the show venue seemed to go on forever (a couple of Made in Chelsea cast members were spotted shivering in the queque). Once inside anticipation started to rise. How long would RiRi make us wait? Would she perform? And, of course, would her designs be any good?

The show eventually started just before 10pm (the invite read 9 o’clock, so Rihanna didn’t make us wait that long) and all our questions were soon answered. The Spring/Summer 2013 collection follows fashion’s current obsession with the ’90s. Think slip dresses, jersey crop tops, baseball caps, backpacks, double denim, spagetti straps and bomber jackets. So, in essence, it was everything we were expecting from Rihanna and River Island. Plus a whole lot more!

Rihanna appeared at the end of the show with her designer and collaborator, Adam Selman. She didn’t treat guests to a performance, but did look absolutely stunning in a Rihanna for River Island LBD. The 24-year-old beauty will perform at the Brit Awards, tomorrow night, so I wonder if she’ll rock one of her designs on the red carpet. It would be great promo!

And, with the Rihanna for River Island launch date fast approaching, a campaign starring Jourdan Dunn and Charlotte Free has just been released. Take a look at some of shots below. Jourdan is absolutely rocking it…

Rihanna Talks About the Inspiration Behind Her River Island Collection

Rihanna’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection for River Island will be presented at London Fashion Week, next month, and I can feel the anticipation building already. In this just-released behind-the-scenes video Rihanna talks about her design inspiration and reveals why she’s so excited to dress “young, sassy personalities”. Take a look…

I’m even more excited about the collection now and cannot wait for Rihanna and River Island’s LFW presentation. Also, how fabulous is RiRi’s chunky shark-tooth necklace? I want, want, want!

Rachel Bilson’s ShoeMint Collection Comes to the UK

If you’re a big fan of Rachel Bilson‘s style I have some exciting news for you… her footwear collection, ShoeMint, is now available in the UK at Stylistpick.com. Rachel B and her stylist, Nicole Chavez, have been designing shoes together for just under a year, and their collections are always feminine with a trend-lead twist. I already have my eye on the baby blue pointed-toe courts. They’ll work perfectly with the season’s ladylike designs and are a truly timeless shape.
Stylistpick are also the official UK stockist for Mary-Kate and Ashley’s StyleMint collection, so I wonder how long it will be until they also get Kate Bosworth’s JewelMint collection and Justin Timberlake’s HomeMint designs. I think we’d all be lying if we said we didn’t want curtains and tea towels that were created by JT… right?

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Presents Her M&S Lingerie

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s long awaited lingerie collection for Autograph at Marks & Spencer finally launched today. The LA-based model was in London this morning, presenting her debut underwear collection to selected press. I was lucky enough to attend, so got to see Rosie talk through her inspiration, alongside head of lingerie at M&S, Soozie Jenkinson. I’m sure that by now you’re all pretty familiar with the collection, so I won’t bore you with more product images. Instead, take a look at Rosie Huntington-Whiteley‘s exclusive M&S lingerie presentation…
As you’d expect, Rosie was totally gorgeous, wearing a fitted black dress with a pair of pointed courts. She talked at length about her inspiration for the collection and described the detailing on each piece. And, surprisingly, she seemed quite shy and rarely looked up from her notes.
Earlier in the morning Rosie took a look at her designs on display in the M&S flagship store, on Oxford Street, and after the press presentation she headed out for an autograph signing. Busy!
The Rosie for Autograph Collection is on sale in stores and online from today. Prices start at £12.50, with cup-sizes from A to G. Shop HERE and check out more pictures after the jump…

Will You Buy Rihanna’s River Island Collection?

I know I’m a day late on the Rihanna for River Island news, so apologies for the repetition, but I’m really excited about this design collaboration. Not because I want to wear Rihanna’s own designs, but simply because it makes so much sense. Rihanna’s style is completely in line with River Island’s image, and I’m sure most of Rihanna’s mega fans regularly hit up RI looking to emulate her look anyway. To me this pairing seems perfect – like Kate Moss for Topshop.

So I’m definitely on board and can’t wait to see Rihanna’s collection in Spring 2013, but I’m also keen to hear what you think about this news. Share your opinion in the poll below…

Madonna’s Truth or Dare Shoe Collection Launches

Madonna is set to launch her debut footwear collection tomorrow, exclusively at Selfridges. The 23-piece Truth or Dare collection will go in sale in the Shoe Galleries at Selfridges, and will also be available to buy online at Selfridges.com. The last few months haven’t been easy for Madonna fans – we’ve sat through uninspiring new music and awkward stunts – so I’m relieved that her Truth or Dare collection is actually very wearable. Take a look for yourself…
Madonna’s longtime stylist, Arianne Phillips, worked with her on the Truth or Dare collection, pulling together images of all the shoes Madonna’s worn throughout the years to get a good idea of the key styles they wanted to focus on. The collection features everything from brogues to over-the-knee boots (a Madonna favourite), and prices start at £80 and reach £480.
The collection will be exclusive to Selfridges until September 1st, so make sure you log onto Selfridges.com tomorrow morning to get first dibs of the new collection…
