The Cannes Film Festival Jewellery Highlights so Far

Cannes Film Festival Jewellery

The Cannes Film Festival is the place to go if you want to spot the world’s finest jewellery. But this year many stars are keeping the bling to a minmun, often sticking to just one statement accessory at a time. Emma Watson chose a single delicate earcuff for her red carpet appearance; and although Nicole Kidman has worn two strapless gowns, she’s resisted the temptation to add a statement necklace on both occasions, favouring subtle earrings instead. That’s not to say there hasn’t been an impressive array of baubles on display, however…

Cara Delevingne wore diamond Chopard jewellery to The Great Gatsby premiere, last week. Her chandelier earrings and chocker necklace were teamed with a fabulous floral cocktail ring, which maximised the impact. Jessica Biel also went for a bold look on the red carpet, wearing a Bulgari diamond and emerald serpent necklace to the Inside Llewyn Davis premiere. And Zoe Saldana paired her Valentino dress with a timeless (yet dramatic) pair of David Yurman pearl earrings.

Must See: Cara Delevingne & Jourdan Dunn’s Hilarious Harlem Shake Video

Cara Jourdan Harlem Shake video

Have you ever wondered what models get up to backstage at fashion shows? There’s tons of waiting around in hair and makeup, giving them time to read a book, play Angry Birds or maybe take a power nap. That’s not how Cara Delevingne and Jourdan Dunn roll though. Backstage at the Topshop Unique Autumn/Winter 2013 show Cara and Jourdan performed the Harlem Shake. Yep, dressed in their runway looks they messed about with Rosie Tapner, letting their hair down and dancing like group of girlfriends on a night out. Watch their Harlem Shake video below:

The video has gone viral, and has already received over 23,000 hits on YouTube. I’ve watched the Kate Upton Dougie video, and that almost sent me to sleep, but Cara and Jourdan’s Harlem Shake is really entertaining. And, if anything, it proves Topshop Unique’s latest collection is easy to move in. No one likes to feel constricted by their clothing, and this video shows that won’t be a problem come Autumn/Winter 2013!

Now I’m just wondering whether Jourdan and Cara’s Harlem Shake is a regular occurrence. Perhaps they perform the routine together at every show they walk in…

Cara Delevingne Covers British Vogue’s March 2013 Issue

Cara Delevingne Vogue UK March cover 2013

Cara Delevingne makes her British Vogue cover debut, this month, appearing on the March 2013 issue. The 20-year-old model was photographed for the magazine by Mario Testino and says the whole experience came as a huge surprise. “It’s one of the most shocking things that has ever happened to me I think,” Cara told Vogue.co.uk. “I just stood back and had to get someone to pinch me. I was like: ‘What’s going on?’ I couldn’t believe it. It doesn’t really sink in until you actually see it, that cover, that actual magazine, Vogue – it’s so great.”

Are you pleased to see Cara Delevingne on UK Vogue’s latest cover? And are you impressed by the fact Vogue have only featured models on their cover, so far this year. We’ve had Kate Upton, Kati Nescher and now Cara. Who’s next? Maybe Jourdan Dunn… She definitely deserves the recognition!

Outfit Inspiration: Cara Delevingne Wears Stripe Skinny Jeans

Last night Mulberry hosted an evening view of Tim Walker‘s exhibition at Somerset House, and a posse of famous faces – from Kate Moss to Helena Bonham-Carter – came out to celebrate. There was plenty of competition for the best outfit, but I was most impressed with Cara Delevingne‘s outfit. The 20-year-old British model looked super-cool in her stripe skinny jeans, fitted blazer and high-top sneakers. She accessorised her look with a Mulberry Maisie bag, showing her support for the exhibition sponsors…

It looks like Cara made very little effort with her outfit, but she was easily one of my most stylish women in the room. I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s soon ready to fill Kate Moss’ trendsetting shoes!

Do you like Cara Delevingne’s latest outfit? Are you a fan of her style? Would you wear striped denim?

Cara Delevingne Covers Russh Magazine

Seeing British model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley score her second ELLE UK cover last week just made me wonder how long we’ll have to wait until Cara Delevingne is photographed for the glossy. I have a feeling we won’t have to wait long, but in the meantime Cara covers Russh magazine’s August/September 2012 issue. The accessories remind me of Karl Lagerfeld, who loves a pair of leather gloves and went everywhere with a fan before his dramatic weight loss.
I really like Cara Delevingne’s Russh cover. The zombie-ish eye makeup isn’t really for me, but it works perfectly with the styling. Cara’s cover look is a mash up of Karl Lagerfeld and Mary-Kate Olsen, which is never a bad thing! The new issue hits newsstands on August 1st.

Cara Delevingne Wears Burberry to the Met Gala 2012

Cara Delevingne’s black velvet Burberry gown was one of my favourite Met Gala looks this year. It’s one seriously stylish dress! The full-skirted cowl-neck number has bit of a Breakfast at Tiffany’s vibe to it, but instead of Audrey Hepburn’s sophisticated elegance Cara brings edgy British spirit to this design. Her hair and Burberry Beauty makeup looked equally as flawless.

Cara accessorised her dress with studded leather gloves and black peep-toe heels, also by Burberry. I’m not so keen on the gloves, but I like the fact she tried something different. We rarely see gloves on the red carpet anymore (unless, of course, they’re being used by SJP and Madonna to cover up ageing hands). Jourdan Dunn accompanied Cara on the red carpet – you can see her look Burberry red carpet look on the Coco’s Tea Party Facebook page.

Is Cara Delevingne on your Met Gala best dressed list? Do you rate her Burberry look?
