Shopping For: Statement Sweaters and Leather Dresses

Every now and then an item just grabs your attention, and Topshop’s embroidered tiger sweater is one such piece. Sure, I’ve never felt my wardrobe is lacking a giraffe print sweater with tigers across the chest, but now I know it’s out there I want it! This week I’m also loving Hoss Intropia’s leather dress; the fitted shape is so chic and it would look great worn strappy black sandals, gold jewellery and a tan. What’s on your wishlist this week?

Rosamund Pike is Back and She Still Loves to Wear Yellow!

British actress Rosamund Pike is currently staring in Jack Reacher, alongside Tom Cruise. I think the last time I saw Rosamund was in An Education, which was ages ago, so I’m pleased she’s back on the red carpet. For the Jack Reacher promotional tour the 33-year-old ex-Bond Girl has stuck to her favourite colour — yellow! It’s a tricky shade to pull off, but Rosamund always wears it with ease. Remember the 2008 Oscars, when she dazzled in Roland Mouret? Well Rosamund has been sticking to her tried-and-tested yellow formula all week, wearing Alexander McQueen, Elie Saab and Emilio Pucci. Take a look:

Rosamund Pike fans will also be pleased to know she’s been photographed for the January 2013 issue of UK Vogue. However, the Vogue team have steered clear of yellow and styled her in Celine and Burberry.

Are you a fan of Rosamund Pike’s red carpet style? Which of her yellow looks is your favourite?

The Denim Style Tips Challenge With J Brand and Matches

I love denim! I wear skinny jeans at least four times a week (usually more), and J Brand is one of my favourite denim labels. So when Matches asked me to take part in the Denim Style Tips challenge I said yes immediately. I was armed with three J Brand styles – the Ignite skinnies, the Aiden boyfriend jeans and the Brix zip-detail biker pants – and set loose in the Marylebone boutique. Amongst the rails of Celine, McQueen, Marant and Katrantzou I struggled to narrow my selection down to just three outfits (it’s a real shame you can’t pair a Stella McCartney evening gown with jeans), but eventually I decided on the following three looks. Take a look and let me know what you think…

The first look is definitely the most “me” – as I’m always pairing my black J Brand skinny jeans with a leather jacket and ankle boots. A pair of dark-wash J Brand jeans are now next on my wishlist, as they’re super versatile. I’m also excited to give their boyfriend jeans a go and toughen up feminine pieces with the zip-detail Brix jeans. The dark green shade is a nice alternative to classic navy and black styles…

You can find all of the items above in Matches boutiques and at MatchesFashion.com. Are you also a big fan of J Brand jeans? Do you like the three denim looks I styled? Which outfit is your favourite?

Eight of the Best Delicate Bracelets, Perfect for Layering

My jewellery habits have started to get a little bit boring over the last couple of months. Every morning I put on the same things: my Michael Kors chronograph watch, Monica Vinader’s “Fiji Love” bracelet and a gold and carnelian Astley Clarke charm bracelet (minus any charms). It’s become too predictable, so I think it’s definitely time to inject something new into the mix…

I think I might start with ASOS’ playful Oui & Non bangles, and then make a move towards the gold arrow cuff by Jacquie Aiche. They’ll be great for layering with my current favourite pieces.

Which designs are your favourites? Do you also wear the same jewellery designs every day?
