Getting dressed up during Autumn/Winter presents a unique set of challenges, doesn’t it? It would all be so much easier if it wasn’t such a struggle to find dresses with long sleeves and skirts that look great with black tights. But fashion designers never make life easy.
So, as we inch closer to holiday season (Thanksgiving is just six weeks away, and then the Christmas parties will commence), I’ve been looking out for luxe-yet-practical after dark attire. I love the rich colours and jacquard prints that were seen on the fall runways, and Monsoon’s luxurious pyjama shirt ties into the trend. I’d wear it with H&M’s cropped jeans and ASOS’ jacquard glove shoes – a look perfectly suited to a autumnal dinner party.
I also have a lot of love for the Marks and Spencer velvet jacket, which is such a timeless piece. Yes, it’s totally on trend for AW16, but I guarantee this is a design you’ll bring out year after year. So at £59 I say it’s an absolute bargain. Get it before it goes!
