Red Carpet Roundup: Three Looks That Caused a Stir This Week

The Golden Globes take place this Sunday, which naturally I’m very excited about. But before we jump straight into Awards Season mode, I wanted to take a minute to talk about a couple of red carpet looks from the last four days that caught my attention. Because soon they’ll be old news.

First we have Anna Wintour, wearing a fur Prada coat to the Girls season three premiere in New York. Usually I avoid featuring fur on CTP, but this look made such a statement (and had Twitter buzzing), that I had to give it a mention. Whether you love it or hate it you’re sure to remember it for years to come. And I’m pretty sure Ms Wintour will be happy with that reaction…

Paloma Faith made a much less dramatic entrance at the Burberry AW14 menswear show, this week, but she still had the cameras flashing. Her Burberry Prorsum spring 2014 outfit is a lesson in how to wear pastels. I love everything about this look, from the matching silver accessories to the hot-pink nails and Veronica Lake waves.

And finally we have Jessica Chastain wearing a yellow Oscar de la Renta dress at the National Board of Review Awards Gala. I love, love, LOVE this look! We don’t see yellow gowns on the red carpet enough, but they almost always look incredible (Kate Mara at the Met Gala, and Michelle Williams and Rosamund Pike at the Oscars instantly spring to mind). Jessica played it perfectly here, ditching fussy accessories and pairing the dress with contrasting blue heels and minimal makeup. Total perfection.

P.S I also adored Lea Seydoux’s Prada and Miu Miu combination. If you missed it find the pictures here.
