With more than 10 years’ worth of blog posts behind me I’m pretty sure that I’ve now started repeating myself year after year. So if I’ve written this countless times before, I apologise. But I’m going to say it once again (and probably in summer 2018, too): I really dislike the Coachella take on festival dressing.
All those floral and feathered headdresses. The body-con crochet dresses. And the fringed, suede waistcoats (in desert temperatures, no less)… It looks more like a costume than actual clothing, to me.
Personally, I think Brits are much better at festival dressing. And, with Glastonbury and Co fast approaching, it seems like the perfect time to share some 2017 festival style essentials. So here we go… For muddy, weekend experiences grab Hush’s cute dungarees, Topshop’s embellished jacket and Étoile Isabel Marant’s lightweight knit. And for day events make a beeline for ba&sh’s pretty maxi dress, Elizabeth and James’ sleek cross-body bag and L.K. Bennett’s suede ankle boots.
Which of these 2017 festival style essentials have caught your eye? And which items are topping your wish list this week? Leave a comment below to have your say…
