Some of you may have noticed there’s been much less catwalk coverage on Coco’s Tea Party lately. The reason for this is simple: I’m bored. It feels like high fashion has reached a plateau. Besides Phoebe Philo’s minimalism (which isn’t really my jam) there’s nothing noteworthy happening on the runways right now. The excitement has vanished and my interest is waning.
However, one recent collection did get my pulse racing… Chanel’s Métiers d’Art ‘Paris-Dallas’ Pre Fall 2014 line. I’ve already watched the show on YouTube six or seven times, and I completely stopped in my tracks when I saw the designs in Chanel’s Bond Street store, last week.
I’m hoping that over next few months we’ll start to see the Chanel Paris Dallas effect drip down onto the high street. Already you can find a few pieces with a Western influence (Mexicana’s star print boots are top of my wish list), but I’m greedy and want more!
(If you haven’t already watched Métiers d’Art show it’s your mission for the week!)
