I try not to wear black too often – especially if I’m documenting outfits for the blog – but it can be challenging when you’re going up against the grim British weather. However, every cloud has its silver lining, and head-to-toe black does look seriously chic. This outfit was thrown together in a fit of ‘I don’t know what to wear’ panic, but it actually worked out pretty well, because I was heading to Primrose Hill where the streets are as colourful as a box of Ladurée macarons.
Accessories become even more important when you’re wearing a monotone outfit, so I decided to give my Charlotte Olympia kitty flats their first outing. It probably wasn’t the wisest choice, as cats famously hate the rain and it started drizzling as soon as we stepped outside, but gave this otherwise-boring look a fashion focus.

Notes on the shoes: Obviously you’re all familiar with Charlotte Olympia’s kitty flats, but did you know they also come in an espadrille style for the summer? I had no idea, and naturally it was love at first sight. The Charlotte Olympia Capri Cats come in black, pink, mustard yellow and leopard print – so good luck deciding on a favourite colour-way!
Have you also been fighting the urge to wear head-to-toe black lately? And are you a fan of Charlotte Olympia’s kitty flats? As always, leave a comment and let me know…
