Sometimes – for reasons that are hard to distinguish – things just look super expensive. Take Next’s two-tone backpack, for instance. It’s a bargain at £28, but looks like there should be at least one extra digit added to the price tag. The same goes for Topshop’s tile print skirt, which isn’t that special on the hanger, but try it on and boom – it suddenly resembles a seriously pricey piece of vintage fashion!

Both high street buys are topping my wish list this week, along with the beautiful new-season Carven jacket and Vivienne Westwood’s draped georgette dress. I’ve borrowed Anglomania dresses for numerous events in the past, but I still don’t own one of my own. It really is about time I made the investment – as they’re so flattering and timeless. Seriously, if there is ever an occasion where you’re not sure what to wear a Vivienne Westwood Anglomania number is sure to solve the problem.
FYI: The Net-A-Porter end-of-season sale has begun!
