The London Fashion Week Beauty Edit

London Fashion Week Beauty Edit

As you know, I stayed at The May Fair Hotel for the duration of London Fashion Week, which meant I had to pack for the shows for the first time ever. And, surprisingly, I had a much harder time narrowing down my beauty edit than I did selecting which clothes to take with me. Although I generally gravitate towards the same products on a daily basis, I like to have options, so streamlining my makeup bag was quite a challenge. In the end I settled on the following items:

For a healthy complexion I packed Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation, Laura Mercier Foundation Primer and Clinique Stay–Matte Sheer Pressed Powder (this is a new discovery for me and I love it).

I took Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place High Cover Concealer and By Terry Touch-Expert Advanced to disguise dark under-eye circles. And, for eyes I kept it simple, opting for a Clinique Chubby Stick, the Charlotte Olympia Dolce Vita Palette and YSL Baby Doll Mascara.

Lips and cheeks were also kept low key, and I selected MAC’s ‘Lured to Love’ Blush and two Lipstick Queen lip colours. ‘Float’ is the perfect nude, and ‘Medieval’ is a sheer, wearable red.

On the hair styling side of things I opted for Moroccanoil shampoo and conditioner – because I still had some travel sizes hanging around – and my trusty Tangle Teezer. I wish I’d also packed my blow dryer, because the one in the hotel room was totally useless (side note: why do hotels never provide decent hair dryers? Let’s discuss). And skincare-wise I took Bliss Triple Oxygen Ex-’Glow’sion Moisture Cream - which I’ve been using throughout the winter - Bioderma Sensibio H2O Cleaner and thisworks In Transit Cleansing Pads.

Luckily I didn’t have to worry too much about hair and makeup throughout the week, though. Because Blow Ltd created a pop-up salon at The Apartment, so I made a few appointments with them throughout LFW. My favourite look was this half-up-half-down halo braid type thing. As you can tell by my description of the style, I’m totally useless when it comes to hair, so never would have been able to create this myself…

What do you think? It’s cute, right?

Thanks Abi for helping with the hair photos!

Much as I love my bob, it’s styles like that that make me wish I had kept it longer, ignoring the fact that I wouldn’t ever have been able to do that myself!!

Haha yes, I could never recreate this myself either.

That’s why my bob is perfect- the epitome of low maintenance, I pretty much brush it then air-dry & it’s still in shape when I get up. Lazy girl hair.
