If you work from home you’re sure to experience those moments of sheer borden when, left with nothing to do and no one to talk to, you end up starting blankly at your computer screen. You might waste away the hours by searching for cute pomeranians on Google or start building lists on Twitter (which, essentially have little to no purpose), but I’ve just found a more productive way to kill time… desk side beauty maintenance.
I’ve stored a small assortment of products on my desk, so that the next time I’m procrastinating I can do something productive and focus one one of the beauty steps I usually ignore.
In my desk side edit I have a small tube of hand cream (at the moment it’s Molton Brown’s new Rubarb and Rose fragrance, but usually I use Soap & Glory Hand Food), a Fresh lip balm to help combat lipstick-induced dryness, a bottle of water, O.P.I cuticle oil, a nail file and John Frieda Full Repair Oil Elixir. If the ends of my hair are feeling dry I apply three drops Full Repair into the palm of my hands and rub it through the split ends (but never, ever on the roots).
It sounds so simple, but having these essential products within reach has made such a dramatic difference to my beauty routine. My nails, in particular, have been in such bad shape lately, and I used to constantly forget to apply cuticle oil. Now I do it about twice a day and they’re looking much healthier. I still spend a lot of time Googling pomeranians though. I mean, just look at this cuteness…
Do you also have a desk side beauty edit? If so what’s in it? As always, leave me a comment and let me know.
