My Style: Tweed Skirts and Navy Knits at London Fashion Week

Coco's Tea Party Ella Gregory

Dressing for London Fashion Week sounds like a glamorous activity, right? Well, I can confirm it is the exact opposite: a total headache. And this season it was even more of a challenge because I stayed at The May Fair Hotel, so had to select every outfit in advance and make a week’s worth of clothes fit into one suitcase. Sooo not fun. In fact, given the choice I’d rather do 100 sit-ups than plan LFW outfits. And that says a lot because I absolutely hate sit-ups!

Anyway, in the end I kept it simple and paired black, grey, navy and cream knits with statement skirts of distressed jeans. Yesterday I wanted to look a bit more pulled together though, because I was attending both Burberry Prorsum and Tom Ford (fashion week rule number one: when Tom Ford invites you to a show you don’t show up in ripped denim).

The flippy tweed skirt I opted for received so many compliments. I think it looks super-expensive – and the cut and quality is amazing – but it’s actually a Warehouse bargain, coming in at £45. I don’t say this often, but you’d be mad not to rush out today and purchase this design. It really is something special…

You look absolutely adorable. I love it all head to toe, and while I normally dislike pointed toe shoes those ones I am in complete envy of. Just perfection.

Very gossip girl – love it. I noticed a few people wearing neck scarves during LFW….is it time to dig mine out from the back of my draws???! xxx

I wear a scarf almost every day actually. Even in the summer I’ll accessorise with lighter ones. I think they look really cool.

You look fab! I always find dressing for LFW to be a chore too – particularly so this season when the weather was just … ugh most days. I applaud your pre-planning!
