Trend Challenge: Giving Winter’s Statement Sweatshirts a Go

Ella Gregory Coco's Tea Party Chin Up ASOS Slogan Sweater

I’ve never been a big fan of sweatshirts. They tend to be baggy in all the wrong places, and it’s difficult to look pulled-together wearing one. However, after two months of heavy knits I felt like giving sweaters another go – if only for a change of fashion scenery! ASOS’ ‘Chin Up’ slogan design caught my eye whilst I was doing a bit of Christmas shopping, and I thought it would go nicely with my electric blue Chinti and Parker bobble hat.

I won’t lie, I didn’t feel that comfortable in this outfit. It’s just not very me. But ever since I ordered the ASOS jumper I’ve been lusting after sweaters left right and centre. French Connection’s bright blue design is a bit more streamlined, so it’s a smart option if you also dislike baggy sweatshirts. And the Markus Lupfer style is great for those mornings when you don’t know what to wear. Simply throw it on with a pair of black skinny jeans and leather ankle boots and you’ll be ready to roll!

Definitely not what I normally expect to see from you, and personally I think I’ll sit this trend out. I tend to think of baggy sweaters as being a lazy day and sweat pants sort of thing.
