Beauty Boost: How To Use the BaByliss Curl Secret Styling Tool

BaByliss Curl Secret How To Video

Have you seen the BaByliss Curl Secret styler yet? It’s been creating a lot of buzz in the beauty world lately. But if you were just handed one – not knowing what it does – I think you’d find it pretty terrifying. As you can see from the image below, it doesn’t look like your average curling wand. Basically you clamp it around your hair, it then sucks your hair into a heated curling compartment, beeps a lot, and magically creates perfect curls. It sounds complicated, but BaByliss invited me learn how to use the new styling tool, and we created a handy How To video to help you out too.

I’m not naturally gifted when it comes to hair styling, so this was a pretty big challenge for me. I really had to concentrate! Watch the How To video after the jump to see how the Curl Secret Styler works and whether I managed to master it…

You look amazing in this video, really natural! I bought the Rusk Miracurl which is exactly the same as the BabyBliss about 2 months ago… it truly is amazing! I’ve never been able to curl my hair, but the Miracurl gets my hair perfectly curled every time, and in next to no time at all. Worth every penny :)

Curls looks gorgeous and it’s clearly easy to use but… did the curls stay in? Mine always drop out!

    • Liz

I mean mine drop out if I use curling tongs/straighteners. Haven’t tried this… yet!

I went to Paris with Next the next day. The curls were intact in the morning, and by the evening I had more of a subtle, wavy look. And after two sleeps my hair had flatterned out again. I think it mostly depends on your hair and how well it holds a curl – plus what hairspray you use too.

Thanks! I only ask them to last for one day/one evening so sounds like it might be worth a try. Best hairspray recommendation is…??? thank you.

Great review! I’ve heard a lot of people talk about this curler, but I’ve always been worried of something going wrong e.g. my hair getting stuck. But this shows just how easy it is to use, and it looks great!!

It didn’t make the video, but when I first started using it I did do something wrong at one point. And instead of sucking my hair up and never giving it back the curler did a special ‘emergency’ beep to tell me something was wrong, and I just released the hair and started with that section again. It’s really clever.

Great post! I’m not very adept at doing my own hair so this is a great little tutorial for me. :)

wow, this is such a great invention! I bought a pair of curling ions a few years ago and I used it twice, total. I’m tempted…
