Fur. It’s a subject everyone has their own opinion on, and I largely try to avoid the topic on Coco’s Tea Party because, if I’m honest, I don’t think I can handle the heat of a debate. At present I don’t wear real fur, but I do love the look of a fur coat or collar and have always found it hard to find good-quality fakes. They either moult (not chic!) or look dangerously flammable (really not chic!). So I was very excited to discover Australian the brand Unreal Fur. As the name suggests, Unreal Fur specialise in ethical, high-quality faux furs. And they’re absolutely brilliant!
I wore two of their furry vests over London Fashion Week, and everywhere I went they were complemented and stroked. They’re really lightweight, and look great layered over a leather jacket or a chunky knit. When the weather is in this cold but not-quite-cold-enough for a wool coat phase Unreal Fur is a great option. My-Wardrobe have already bought into the brand, and ASOS will also be getting a selection of Unreal Fur in the coming weeks.
And, while we’re on the subject of ASOS, they currently have a really fun selection of faux fur collars online. They’re less authentic than Unreal Fur, but are perfect is you’re looking to give last winter’s coat an update. The dark blue style is my favourite – it looks great paired with that leather jacket…
Have you always struggled to find quality fake furs in the past? Do you like the look of Unreal Fur’s collection? Let me know.
