As mentioned numerous times this year, British Vogue have moved away from mass-appeal celebrity covers and they’re working with top models again. So it’s no surprise to see another catwalk favourite on their September 2013 cover. The fact the model in question is Daria Werbowy, however, is a little unexpected. Although Daria just covered Vogue Paris’ August issue, it feels like she’s been keeping a low profile lately. There was a time when you couldn’t click on a fashion blog without seeing Miss Werbowy’s face – so I’m very pleased to see she’s back in the limelight, landing Vogue’s most prestigious cover of the year. It certainly makes a change from Kate Moss, right?
Daria was photographed for the issue by Patrick Demarchelier, and models a gorgeous zesty leather jacket. The shot isn’t necessarily what I’d expect from a September cover – it’s very minimal, fresh and almost summery – but I like it a lot. Miranda Kerr and Cara Delevingne have also been photographed for the issue, so it’s definitely not one to miss.
Are you pleased to see a model covering British Vogue’s September issue? Do you like Daira Werbowy’s leather look?
FYI: Daria is wearing a Balenciaga jacket, a Stella McCartney knit and her own jewellery on the cover.
