I love an autumnal colour palette. And although we’re still enjoying the last days of summer I’ve already started looking for designs in burnt orange hues, chocolate browns and vibrant greens. Luckily there’s quite a lot of choice out there at the moment, and many of the key looks can be worn right away. In fact, some of these Autumn/Winter pieces will look even better with a summer tan. Take Topshop’s sixties inspired dress, for example, which is my top pick for any end-of-season weddings. I also adore Olivia von Halle’s silk pyjama set, and would wear the shirt outside the bedroom with distressed boyfriend jeans and flat sandals.
And, if you’re looking for a statement piece that will see you through until spring 2014, you can’t do better than Burberry Brit’s cute cashmere knit. The dog pattern is adorable, and the mix of warm, autumnal tones and marl grey makes the sweater super-wearable! Roll on September…
