Trend Driven: Things Are Getting Lacey for Autumn/Winter 2013

In the same way floral prints are revisited every Spring/Summer (I’m resisting temptation to quote Miranda Priestly here), lace always plays a big part in the Autumn/Winter collections. Fall 2013 is no different, and lace dresses hit the runway in all four fashion capitals. At Valentino ivory lace was used as a trimming on prim shift dresses and created an elegant statement when used head-to-toe. But elsewhere the look took a more sultry turn. Erdem, de la Renta, Vuitton and Elie Saab all experimented with dark, gothic lace, usually against a backdrop of seductive sheer fabrics. The style is sure to catch on, especially as the high street can’t resist a little lacey number! Here’s a quick run-down of the standout looks…

Lace Fall 2013

I’d be surprised if all of the designs pictured above didn’t get at least one red carpet outing, this fall. Jennifer Lawrence will need a lot of different options for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire promo tour, and I’m hoping she’ll do at least one lace look. The Oscar de la Renta gown would be an absolute knock out on her, don’t you think?

Are you a fan of the lace Fall 2013 looks? Which collection was your favourite? And who would you like to see wearing the trend? Let me know…
