Cash, Credit, Debit… Coordinating Designs {Inspired by Rashida Jones}

At the Independent Spirit Awards, back in February, all eyes were fixed on Jennifer Lawrence, but the most interesting red carpet outfit actually belonged to Rashida Jones. The Parks and Recreation actress wore two coordinating designs from Stella McCartney’s Pre Fall 2013 collection – a short-sleeved embroidered top and a matching flared skirt. Easily confused as a dress, this outfit is great because it can be worn in a number of ways. Pair the two items together for a complete, statement look; or wear them solo with casual separates for a totally different vibe. Endless amounts of fun!

Cash, Credit, Debit: Coordinating Designs
Cash: Paisley jacquard crop top, £36, and fluro paisley trousers, £55, both at Topshop
Credit: Floral silk T-shirt, £225, and floral panelled silk skirt, £286, both by Sophie Hulme
Debit: Iris print peplum top, £99, and Iris print skinny jean, £85, both at Karen Millen

Coordinating designs are the smart buy of the season, and there are plenty of options out there for you to choose from. Follow Rashida’s lead and opt for a matching top and skirt combo. Or, if you’re feeling adventurous, try trousers and a coordinating jacket/top/shirt. Karen Millen’s Iris print set is my personal favourite, but Sophie Hulme’s floral designs are coming in at a close second. And if you’re not keen on any of the options above check out Topshop’s dedicated co-ord trend page – there’s sure to be something there to suit every style! Are you a fan of this look?

    Of course I like the credit outfit the most haha. I love the blue floral trousers too.
    Not sure how well I’d pull this trend off.

    Really like this feature :)

    I REALLLY love the topshop print but I wish they had a more flattering top, I can’t stand bibbed-style tops, noticed that on the homepage the model is wearing a bralet style top which i find more appealing, hope that one comes online soon. Really like the karen millen one too! xx
