The Sass & Bide AW13 show took place on the first day of London Fashion Week, which now feels like a million years ago. It was my first ever Sass & Bide experience, and I was very impressed with all the red carpet worthy designs. This season Sarah-Jane Clarke and Heidi Middleton showed their collection at St John’s church, in Westminster. The setting was completely fitting, as the stunning historic building perfectly complemented the heavily embellished designs.
The collection kicked off with playful separates. There were super-wearable metallic knits, loose printed trousers, body-con mini skirts and pops of bright yellow. None of the designs really screamed “Autumn/Winter”, but then Australia have their summer when we’re in the grips of winter. So I guess that was to be expected…
It was the second half of the collection – which focused on evening dressing – that really took my breath away. A parade of heavily embellished white looks came down the runway, all of which would look right at home on the red carpet. My favourite outfit featured a pair of fitted lace trousers, worn with a matching, short sleeved top. It was so chic!
Canary yellow clutch bags and heels brought a fresh pop of colour to the collection
It’s now all about the double thigh-high slit. Jennifer Lopez will be happy…

My favourite look was the white two-piece trouser suit
Heavy embellishment took centre stage in the second half of the collection
I’m now looking forward to seeing if any of these Sass & Bide designs get a red carpet outing, this season. Perhaps my current girl crush, Australian actress Rose Byrne, will slip into one of their statement looks….

I LOVE Sass & Bide – this collection is absolutely amazing!
This was by far one of my favourite shows form the entire week. I love what the ladies create every season but the metallic knits were just perfection.
