Anne Hathaway has been preparing for Awards Season since last summer. Remember how she took a backseat during The Dark Knight Rises promo, saving all of her magazine covers for early 2013, ahead of the red carpets? It was a smart move, and it’s a real shame that after all of that waiting Anne’s cover shoots have been pretty disappointing. Her Glamour US cover was cheesy, the US Vogue portrait unflattering, and her Harper’s Bazaar UK February 2013 cover isn’t much better either…
The styling and set-up is great, but the image is failing to win me over. What’s going on with the drowsy eyes? Anne usually looks gorgeous, so I’m surprised this Harper’s Bazaar cover isn’t a total knockout! What went wrong?
In the accompanying interview Anne talks about her image, saying: “[For a long time] I was seen as this bizarre-world good-girl cartoon that I in no way identified with – very vanilla, very sweet, very accessible and not interesting. I had no grit. No sex appeal.” The Tom Ford dominatrix dress certainly put a stop to that, however…
Do you like Anne Hathaway’s Harper’s Bazaar UK cover? Will you buy the February 2013 issue?
